My tendonitis is currently in my non-dominant elbow. I think because my shoulder is so screwed up, I favored it too much and put the burden on my elbow. Did the same thing years ago when I tore up my right shoulder...after about a month my elbow was killing me.

At any rate, the only thing I can shoot left handed currently is the P238 or the new to me MKIII .22
Recoil lights my elbow up.

I see a definite advantage in weak hand practice, but none in carrying that way. The only exception would be if I was recovering from an injury to my right hand. I noticed that my CCW holster is set up so that it can be used either way.

One of the many things I like about my carry gun is that it is fully ambidextrous.
For a short time after my Jan rotator cuff surgery I carried weak side. As soon as I was able....I went back to strong side.
I practice weak side shooting and reloads, but I can shoot better rom the hip strong side than I can using the sights from my weak side. That probably came from my decades long obsession with quick-draw.

Yes sir, I started carrying this way about 12 years ago from a recommendation on another gun forum.

I'm a firm believer that your backup weapon; gun, knife, impact weapon, pepper spray, whatever, should be accessible with your non-dominant hand.

Funny, police don't carry two pistols like some did in the old west, but if my state ever changes the carry law to include open carry I may get a two gun rig. The first thing I'd do is go to a mall and freak out the shoppers

I would like to thank everyone for their responses. I'm at a point where my left hip and knee are giving me enough pain that I am considering switching my carry. I don't like the idea of cross draw, but do practice with my right hand and am confident that I will hit what I'm shooting at. The extra weight shifted from the left side to the right may buy me a little more time before surgery.
I like the idea of carrying on the right side while hunting with a rifle/shotgun with the long gun in my left hand or on my left shoulder.
