Weatherby Mark V question

dumb question time..how do you remove the bolt from a Weatherby?

Well, a loooong time ago I got to play with one (not own, just play) and I seem to remember a rectangular, spring-loaded catch on the rear of the bolt. When you open the bolt, it is accessible from underneath...I think.

Memory fails me.

Mine has a latch under the bolt, Its kind of tight so I use a small knife to push it in.

On the new Mark V's the bolt release is integrated into the trigger itself. Open the bolt then squeeze the trigger and pull the bolt out.

pulling the trigger dosnt work..it must be an older one

Carbon, look above the trigger inside the triggerguard. There should be a square "button" that you push up on while pulling back on an open bolt. That should release it.

We are talking Mark V here and not Vanguard, correct? I don't know how old yours is I picked up my Mark V in '96.
