??? weaver VS LEUPOLD ???

?? Are the weaver mounts made from aluminium or cold rolled steel like Leupold Mounts ???

Weaver mounts or Leupold mounts - is there a difference, other than $$$ price ???

What would be the best for a REMINGTON 700 ADL in .270 ???

I had to go w/ the $$$$ I had

I ended up putting a BUSHNELL - Sportsman 4-12 X 40 adjustable Objective front lens, mounted on WEAVER 1-inch SEE-THRU Scope Mounts. I wanted to keep my peep sights. I guess I need to sight my scope for around 100-125 yards. That is about the average range of shots I find myself in while hunting. I have had deer step out on me within 60 - 100 feet away. BY the time I would get a scope on them the would be gone, that is why I wanted to keep my iron sites. Just my decision, hope it works for me.

Took the 700 to the range today = third trip

I have returned from the range. The Remi 700 is more than I expected. I can place shots where I need them. I can put three rounds down range one right behind each other, less than 15 seconds, keeping them in groups smaller than a tennis ball. (consistently at 75-150 yards) I hope I am that good during deer season. It won't be long.
