Hey guys! I finally got around to picking up a tanker holster for my Webley Mk IV. These holsters are pretty hard to find these days and somewhat pricey, but it was worth it. They were used by tank and vehicle drivers as well as dismounted troops during WW2 and post-war by the British and others. I found one on eBay for a good price and bought it. I also ordered the proper cleaning rod from Wales and it arrived today. Together with some authentic .380 revolver Mk II FMJ cartridges, it's a nice setup for sure:

This drop holster slides right on a belt and carries nicely. The canvas is extremely thick and high quality. Built in are six cartridge loops for spare ammo and a slot for the cleaning rod. Even after many decades this holster and revolver are still ready for service. So cool! :)

Take care,

Cooldill

Much more style than the canvas flap holster I have for my Enfield No.2 Mk1 with hammer spur.

I drool with green eyed envy sir. I always thought Webley pistols were dead sexy guns. I cringe to think of how many became Manhole covers in Manchester when the Brits banned handguns.

Yes, very sad! I wish our British friends could enjoy these fine guns and other pistols as well. We have many great rights in this land! This Webley went to serve in Singapore with the police, no doubt saving it from being melted down in Britain.

Love those Webleys! I didn't have the cash for the only one I ever had a chance for. It was a war time production, parkerised, in .38 special. Not enough money going too many directions, (KIDS)... so it went to some one else. Thats life! Like that holster, too.

There is a very silly movie that is a nearly perfect recreation (only better) of the serials of the 1930's and 1940's (which were not just silly, but outright dumb). It is called "Sky Captain and the World of Tommorow", and it is set in a sort of 1938 that never happened, with no Hitler. For the first part of the movie, Sky Captain is armed with a Webley Mk. IV .38, as well as his trusty Curtiss P-40 (which doubles as a submarine!). Later in the movie, he switches to a Colt 1911.

It's a lot fun if you can enjoy a movie aimed squarely at 8-year-olds. It looks gorgeous.

Wait! You mean that wasn't a documentary? But I thought....

Nice Webley and holster BTW.

Congrats and very cool!

They had a modern make on that movie a few years back with Angelina Jolie in it. Never watched it though.

I remember when you were looking. Glad you got it all together.
Wait! You need a belt!
and a tank ....

I got this one so I could slip it onto my normal belt. The standard flap holster uses a hangar attachment and does need it's own belt, this has a normal belt loop.
