I have a strict buying regiment for ammunition that I stuck by for several years now. Need one box of ammo, buy two, that sort of thing. Every month I'd pick a little more ammo to add to the stash in case of a situation like the one we're experiencing now, but of course that buying regiment is not possible now. The conditioned consumer in me demands purchases though, and without any ammo to buy I've been looking at things that I kinda need but put on the backburner.
For one, I updated my reloading and cleaning stations with new peg boards as well as picked up an ultrasonic cleaner (always wanted one of those). I also got into custom parts for the firearms I already own, like my Ruger 22/45 that now is full of Volq parts and totally worth it! Extra gear, new holsters, etc. All stuff that's readily available while I wait out the storm.
So I was wondering if anyone finds themselves doing this as well? It's nice being one of the very few who slowly saunters into the fun shop not full of anxiety and rage over whether or not I'll find ammo but instead all I need is right there on the shelf! Not that I'm bragging or anything...
