We have many threads containing some absolute beautiful revolvers. How about a thread of the guns that have been run hard?

Here is my European LE trade in S&W 10-6 that came back in the country a couple years ago. She looks rough but works great. Not bad for 220 bucks.

This was under the Christmas tree for me in 1973..
It has been a good companion for 50 years.
My only handgun for about 20 years. 20170115_144340.jpg 20170115_144318.jpg 20170115_144251.jpg she's the real deal. I'm not gonna guess how many bricks of ammo went through it. It was many. My parents talk about several summers in my youth that they would wonder where I was, and stand on the porch and listen or gunshots. True story.
Ruger single six.

This is my first pair of Ruger Vaqueros in .357 that I used in SASS Cowboy Action Shooting from ‘98 through ‘05. Thousands of rounds through these guns. None of them “wimp loads”. Lots of magnum loads through them outside of CAS. I sent them back to Ruger for an overhaul and then gave them to my son-in-law.

All my other guns show minimal wear compared to these two.

H&R2.jpg That's my old 1925 H&R 22 Special. It's still more accurate in 6 of the 7 cylinders than my newer 49'er made in the 60's. No bluing left on it. Sights are horrible but it still shoots good. Right now, I don't have anything any better.
It hung around my wife's Great, Great, Grandmother's house until her and her son, (my wife's Great Uncle) both passed away about 4 decades ago.
I wish I had a Single Six like Armored Farmer's. I never see them around here for sale.

Our Parents had an old 18" School bell from an old local one room School house that was torn down, and they would go out in the yard and ring it when they wanted us to come home. We could hear that thing for miles.
We'd head home when we heard it. Worked really well.

This is the Ruger Single Six that a very good friend of mine gave me some time back. No telling how many rounds have been through it as he bought it used. Got it for running his trap lines and when he retired from doing that, he gave it to me.

Quite a bit of wear and tear on the finish, especially on the grip frame and overall the gun was just dirty and in need of a thorough make-over. Took a bit of elbow grease with Hoppe's No. 9, along with a light touch of Flitz to bring the gun back to life! Finally found at a local gun show a set NOS factory grips for it (the original grips were long gone and the replacement grips were broken as well), and a .22 Magnum cylinder for it.

Turned out to be a pretty decent looking gun after getting all cleaned up!

I was in Luckenbach TX a couple weeks ago. It happe8to be Texas independence day and there was a celebration. The Texas Rangers had about ten retired Rangers sidearms on display. I was fascinated to see them. Too stoopid to take pictures. There were SAAs, 1911s and several S&W 19s that I remember. I can tell you that they had their corners rounded off too. They had been carried.

there are people standing in line left of the bandstand. You can see display cases on the tables...thats them...
Dang it i wish i had snapped some pics for you guys!

Howdy

A S&W K-22 Outdoorsman from 1932. Roy Jinks told me this one shipped to the Providence Rhode Island police department and was probably used by their pistol team. Notice all the blue is gone above the trigger where somebody was probably resting their finger during the old Bullseye matches. Notice the incorrect Magna grips. I paid the princely sum of $600 for it because none of the high end collectors at the auction was interested, because of its condition. I have a whole bunch of S&W 22s, but this old baby is still the most accurate.

A S&W Triple Lock from 1907.Serial number is below 200. Not a bit of blue left on it except in the cylinder flutes and a couple of other places. Almost no checkering left on the grips. Again, nobody was interested, so I picked it up for the unbelievable price for a Triple Lock of $650.

A Colt Bisley from 1907. The Case Hardening colors have faded away as well as a lot of blue.

A very worn S&W 1st model Schofield from 1875.

Three S&W #1 Tip Ups from the 1800s. None of them have any blue left on them, the silver plating has almost completely worn of the one at the top, revealing the brass frame.

I'll stop now.

That looks like one of those magnet fishing rescues.
Actually, my dad was an MP in Wilmington NC back in the early 60's and took that off of someone that was actually carrying it. Its the only one left of a number that he took off of people and just sat in a box ever since. It looked like that when he took it, and was loaded. It sorta works, but I wouldn't want to shoot it.

I've had this since the early 80's.
I'd be willing to bet a LEO carried it before I found it at the LGS.

This is the Slickest, Smoothest, Crispest functioning double action I own. (I only own 5 doubles)
It is the only S&W.
I absolutely love this gun!

It is definitely missing some finish.

You cant tell from this pic, but this poor .32-20 M&P, circa 1908 actually has a lot of heavy pitting and was "in the white" when I got it. I media blasted it and dunked it in Birchwood Casey, turned out ok I think. Its a little loose, but not dangerously so, and still shoots straight enough.

A lady brought it into my buddys shop, loaded, years ago, wrapped in a pillow case, and gave it to him saying she had found it in her dead husbands effects and didn't want it in the house.
He unloaded it, slid it across the counter to me and said "$100, if you wanna roll the dice on it?" I figured the grips were worth at least that much, lol. :)
