Are there any Western knife collecter out there? What kind of metal is used in the blades of the older knives. The ones that will rust.

Upon reflection, my answer, funny as it may be, implies a great deal of disrespect.

I assume by "metal" you really mean the type of steel? If so, I am fairly sure it is 1095 or something very, very similar.

In other words, carbon steel
