Spot77 and I rolled out I-795 today to go to the show at the Ag Center in Westminster.

The usual suspects as far as vendors goes, but there were some noteworthy items not seen at many of the recent MD shows:

Cool little Heritage gun safe.....only a "half size" safe....exactly what I had in mind for the handguns when the tall one fills up;)

Lots of CETMEs and HK91s.....looks like a distributor got some and the dealers are scooping them up in turn. I hadn't seen any at other MD shows

Many M1s Garands and Carbines. The Garands were going for $895 for the originals and $1295 for the new Springfields. Gee, that Garand felt good in my hands...must resist....must save money.....

I lost interest in the Carbine version......waaaaayyyyy too small for my hulking frame. But, for those interested they were going for $495.

LOTS of Storms, Hi-Points, Kel-Tecs.......it was the invasion of the carbines:p

Tons of shotguns in every size, shape and flavor.....by far the most well represented firearm of the show. In fact one whole table of what looked like police trade-in 870s....cylinder bore, short barrel...about $125 (I think....since I just got two shotguns for Christmas I wasn't looking to buy).

In the end....I got a bore snake for the CZ452 and Spot77 got some targets....then off to BassPro and Wally World to get some shot shells for the PG shoot tomorrow:cool:

BTW for those looking for an SKS....Shooter's Discount out of Arbutus was running a special on Yugos....$119.00..your pick. Both Spot and I ended up with one from him in the last few months and they have worked flawlessly......too bad I payed $149.00 for mine...:banghead: :p

When did you go? Did you happen to see me, i was wearing a brown jacket, green shirt, and blue jeans. I was there until around 12, looking at alot of different stuff. But i dunno, maybe ya saw me, i was carrying a soft gun case the one time.

Man, i really should have waited till this show and got a shotgun there. I could have picked up a Saiga, Which after handling, i fell in love with. For around 350. Or a mossberg persuader or winchester defender. All for around what i payed for my 870.

Did you see the guy selling Federal Tactical shotshells for 29 bucks for 50 rounds?! I picked up a box of each, slugs and buckshot.

Hey Slim.....we might've bumped into you but since we really weren't looking at people much....who knows? We were there from 9:00 to about 10:30.......DANG it was cold!

I thought the Kel-tec carbines were all way overpriced this time around.....and I was ALMOST ready to buy one.......could've done it if the right deal came along.

It was mostly the same vendors, especially the super overpriced White Marsh Arms dealer...nice to look at their stuff, but I could never buy anything at their superinflated prices.

I think Norton and I are going to try to hit a Northern Virginia show the next chance we get...The MD show circuit is gettin' kinda' old with all of the same vendors there....Top Hat, White Marsh Arms, Walt's, etc.......

Dude, i was there early in the morning, damn was it cold! Usually you can haggle with any dealer there, but if you really wanna haggle, sundays the day to go, they really dont wanna take all that stuff back with them.

Top hats got alot of "Different" stuff. You really have to dig through to find what ya want, if he has it.

White Marsh is certainly expensive, but I have to admit to buying from them before (mostly before I knew what I was doing). One thing I have to give them though, they tend to be the nicest of the "regular" dealers I know. They might even be nicer than the guys down in Rockville at Atlantic. The only guys who are clear cut nicer are at Shooters Discount in Arbutus and Clay's in Ellicott City. Due to the treatment I've had there I've actually bought once (and I'm about to again) even since I've known better- plus they do have a half way decent seletion still (they aren't the best, but especially when you put both locations together, they run Continental, they have a decent enough selection).

SlimJim,

I wasn't really looking to buy any firearms this time around....after getting the twin 12ga for Christmas, I promised my wife no new guns for a while......besides I don't have enough time to shoot the ones I have now.

Chaim,

I agree that at least the guys at White Marsh are nice enough.....one of the regulars let me fawn over the HK SOCOM at the last PG Show knowing full well I couldn't afford it. Then again I can't really afford any of their stuff at those prices.......

RE: Top Hat....yeah, ya have to dig a little.....but his cleaning supplies and tools are as cheap as anywhere else and that's where I usually stock up on patches and CLP....
