You are a dog. I've enjoyed reading your blog for the last few months. You've really gotten some great deals...the Diamondback and the Smith 1911 are two of the best.
The key is to find the shops that make money off loans instead of guns. If they have an outdated Blue Book, tell them the new versions are a waste of money. Check every day if possible, because you are likely not the only one out there! I'm fortunate that with my job I am able to pop in almost everyday for a quick peek. It makes a difference.
If it does, then I particiapated by shooting Some .410 slugs at Coffee cans some cans just need killin' you know and ...
...I do not own a .454, sure do like the big holes tho'...like making them soda cans dance too . keep dancing you varmits, the piano player is still tickling them ivories...
...but I did take the wife to the local gun shop / range and looked at scatterguns. We'd been talking about getting one for our personal Homeland Security Department and maybe try a little skeet shooting from time to time with friends who do that.
Alas, our finances won't allow such a major purchase until next weekend.
They had an FN 1300 police 12 gage, 7+1 used, tagged at $340. Not sure if that's a decent price (comments welcomed) but I'm sure it's negotiable. A lot of Bennelli's too, but I preferred the look and feel of the 1300. The large capacity would come in handy if the local barbarians ever ford the moat and breach the walls. We've been seeing a lot more barbarian activity in this part of the kingdom lately...
I was at ye olde swap meet today, and I just happened to
pick up a Yugo SKS and an M-44 Mosin Nagant.
Wasn't even thinking about BAG day, it just kind of
worked out. Smokin deal too...
Bought a Yugo 24/47 on the 14th, broke it in the 15th. That makes a Yugo59/66, a Russian 91/30 and a Yugo 24/47 in the last 6 weeks. I think the gun shop is going to figure out when my payday is pretty soon.
I didn't realize it was BAG Day, but I did pick up a new Kel-Tec PLR-16 pistol. Later this summer, after I get my SOT, I'll be registering it as an AOW, so that I can put a vertical foregrip on it. I took it to the range yesterday and put 90 rounds through it. It was fun!
