I'm trying to figure out what type of 5.56/.223 to buy. A gas piston system seems to be a great idea, but I'm trying to keep costs at or below $1500. What do you guys think?
to have a rifle able to go 15000 and more rounds without cleaning and having to clean only 6 parts once you decide to actualy clean it is just appealing to me.
(assuming the 556 is built to the same standarts as my 551.)
i have no use for a gas piston ar, the only ones that run like they are supposed too, are the H&K, but you can't get one of them, and the Barret 5.56 upper, which there is only 2 of them in the world right now but they should be hitting the market soon. If i had to have one i would get the Barret.
Or you could wait until Ruger comes out with there piston ar, that would be a cheaper alternative for you.
