My uncle sold his last 9mm and brought a can of ammo over. All of his SD ammo was in plastic cases. There were about 200 of these in it two of the cases. Any idea what they are? There are two stars and the words 9mm +P on the bottom of the cases.

That sounds like it. There are two stars with a line between them. I wonder what weight the bullets are.

The two stars with a line between indicates Starline brass. They are probably reloads or from a smaller maker. The bullet looks like a Speer Gold Dot.

Natman hit it on the head. I bet your Uncle could tell you more. I would be more concerned with whether or not they are reloads or factory than bullet weight. If they are reloads, I would certainly want to know who reloaded them before I attempted to shoot them in my gun.

That is new ammo from Georgia arms, Might be there 124gr+P useing starline brass at 1200fps and they use speer gold dot bullets But because they are a commerial reloader they have to use speers bonded deep curl name. Look at the bullet profile comepare it to there 115gr also. Good stuff. I have shot many many thousands of rounds of there canned-heat, defence and hunting loads over the years . There business is off I-20 on the west side of atlanta. They sold lots of this stuff in ammo cans with the bigger orders of 500 or 1000. 50 and 100 rounds come in sealed bags. http://georgia-arms.com/new9mmluger124grgolddothollowpointp50pk.aspx

Now if by chance it ain't georgia arms it might be atanta arms. GA's older stuff had some nickel plated brass like yours. Current New could be regular copper also but all new ammo is starline . they are another major reloader and loader of new ammo also.

could also be double tap ammo. they used to load their stuff in starline brass, and use speer bullets.

The appearance of the case leads me to believe that's a reloaded round. Ask and find out if you really want, or just shoot some.

Thanks for all of the replies. I agree that its most Geoegia Arms. It feeds and shoots great. I killed some unsuspecting milk jugs today and they exploded when these hit.

Your probably close enough to GA for pick up service when you need more. Save your brass, they will buy that back too if you don't reload

Well, whatever it is my 3913 likes it... or at least liked 100 rounds of it this morning. I'll be carrying it in the old girl now. :)

124 grain Gold Dots.

Georgia Arms is one company that loads their new ammunition in Starline brass, and the bullet and case are both made by reputable companies, are usually found together loaded by reputable companies, and while you can't really tell which manufacturer it specifically came from, it's highly unlikely that it came from a bad source. To my knowledge most companies that put out unsafe ammunition go under right quick.

Buffalo Bore uses some Starline brass and Speed Gold Dot bullets also, but I'm not sure if they make any nickled stuff.

I don't know of Atlanta arms has a commercial line and a remanufactured line, but all I've ever shot was reman, that was in whatever brass (mixed headstamps, mostly brass, some nickle, etc), and it was weak....

Going from Atlanta Arms to my carry ammo felt like going from .38 special to .357 magnum. Other than it being weak, I never had any issues with it.
