I was interested in posting a gun for sale, are there any special rules?
Thanks,
Fred

Thanks for asking.

From the sticky thread in the B/S/T forums...

Forum Rules:

1. All state and federal laws apply. It is your responsibility to comply with the laws.

2. Your state of residence must be included in the subject line AND in the body of your thread. As a suggestion, it would be best to spell out the state name at least in the body of the post (e.g., Alabama instead of AL). Doing so would help others searching for sale items in their own state since the search engine can't accomodate two character words.

3. When your gun is sold, post a reply to your thread stating that the gun has been sold.

4. To those shopping here: please respect the seller's wishes. If the seller states that a gun is for sale only in a given state or area, don't waste his/her time by offering to buy it if they'll ship it to you. If the seller states that he/she wants cash only, please don't waste their time by offering trades for other guns.

5. Do not make disparaging comments on someone else's "For Sale" thread.

6. Please don't email webmaster asking for a thread to be deleted/changed/etc. Post a followup indicating the change.

7. If you have a question about our software, or if you have a "how to" question, please ask it in the Tech Support forum - not here!

8. Dealers and FFL holders: You are welcome to provide items for sale here, but please keep in mind that THR's sales forums are for the benefit of our members. This place is neither designed nor intended to be unlimited free advertising for businesses. Don't hog the forum by posting a half-dozen threads a day. Consolidate your lists of items for sale when possible. If nobody is showing any interest, try lowering your prices instead of posting BTT. Posters who abuse the site will be asked to vacate the premises.

9. Put a price next to every item you have for sale -- "best offer" doesn't cut it here. If you're not sure what a given item is worth, there are a number of other areas on this board where you can ask and get objective advice.

10. If one of your threads disappears, please re-read these rules before posting again. Your disappeared thread was probably in violation of one or more rules. The onus is on you to follow the rules properly.

Thanks,

THR Staff
