(I used the word "funnest" to troll people into this fun thread.)

You get two votes.

Let's see what the honeys of our little handgun world are! :)

My current favorites are:
  • Big bore DA revolver (5" 45 ACP S&W 625)
  • Small bore automatic (6-7/8" 22LR Ruger Mk. II Target)

For range toy use only? Ruger GP100 and a well made 1911.
Nope, overall two favorites; not just for range use.

For example, in my case, I chose big bore DA revolvers and small bore autos. I don't carry either of them; I carry a medium bore revolver or auto, but they are not my favorites. This is about what you LIKE, not necessarily what is best for any single job.

Big bore Revoiver---S&W Mod 29---8 3/8in---.44mag.
Big bore Automatic---1911---Commander---.45acp.

Oh, that case then...

-G45 MOS w/RMR Type 2 6.5
-Sig P320 C .45 ACP Nitro, stock only

They're both easily my most accurate pistols, and as they say only accurate guns are interesting. It's definitely true.

I voted for big bore DA revolver, plus other: anything with a laser on it. Love being able to shoot from any position just looking at the target. To my thinking almost essential on a defensive pistol.

22LR Target Style semiauto pistols. No wasted time in reloading like a single action revolver, easier to shoot than a DA revolver, still very affordable, affordable ammo, low recoil, low report, great velocity and capabilities, an entire afternoon of fun for $25-50, fantastic training tool for fundamentals, versatile host for irons, red dots, or scopes…

There is no firearm in the world I enjoy more than, or nearly as much as, a target style 22LR semiauto pistol, such as the Ruger Mark Series, Browning Buckmark, S&W Victory or 41, Beretta U22 Neos…

I went with:

Big Bore-Single Action-Ruger Vaquero .45 Colt

Medium bore-Single Action-Browning Hi-Power 9mm.

I voted medium bore DA revolver, I really enjoy shooting lighter .38spl reloads through my 4" Security Six.
I could do that all day long.

I wanted to vote for large bore SA revolvers as well because of my new Taylor's Smoke Wagon in .45 Colt because I'm sure I'll love it but since I haven't been able to shoot it yet I didn't vote for it.

Big bore DA revolvers M57, M58, M29-2, M25-5
Medium bore semiautos 10mm Auto 1911, .45 Auto 1911 (well, it's a big bore, but whatever)

Big bore SA revolver and big bore DA revolver, of course.

Those are the most fun. :)

Fun: providing entertainment, amusement or enjoyment.

Hitting the target quickly & accurately is enjoyable and my RDS equipped Glock 34.5 and 22.5 allow me to to that.
I voted medium and big bore since 40 S&W starts with a "4" and is the same diameter as 10mm it is deductively "big bore".
