The items were listed as a “reloader, unknown unusual antique barrel, and a part that may be from a Krag”. I knew what the speedloader was and I think I can either use it or modify it for use with one of my guns. The barrel and the “Krag” part have me stumped though. Anybody want to throw out a WAG as to what it is?

To me the color and shape is a bit off from what I have seen, but the “Krag” piece looks like a cocking handle for either a straight pull bolt rifle or for some of the forward charging SMGs.

The barrel I am totally lost on. I’m guessing at this point that it’s either a 25 or 22 barrel.

The parts will be here in a few days so I will post better pictures and show any markings I can. I just thought it might be fun to try and nail down the items beforehand.

I have $9 in this lot so I’m not hurt even if it’s all junk.

No idea about the barrel or the part, except that the part is NOT from a Krag.
The speedloader is for the following:
  • .32 H&R Mag
  • S&W 16
  • Taurus 76, 761
  • K-Frame Size 6 Shot

I’m claiming partial credit on that charging handle. I wasn’t thinking g3 but I was thinking of similar guns in slightly smaller packages.

I’m kinda excited about the barrel though. Unless it’s totally trashed, it will become a part of my first scratch/junker build.

That is exactly it

G3.
Yes, and that shade of OD Green is typical of Pakistan Ordnance Factory (POF) or early German production. Later the Germans went to a brighter Tropical Green and then to an Alpine Green. But you find mixed shades of green furniture on G3 rifles in German service.

This barrel is very odd. It seems more robust than a toy would be but I have no clue what it is. Has 2 holes at the breech, one straight back and one on the top. It has an odd cut in it like it may have been an underhammer of some sort. Appears smoothbore.

I’m relatively sure after cleaning up some gunk that this is not in fact an actual gun barrel. There are 3 ports at the breech end, one at the top where the slot is for the hammer, one centered at the rear, and a milled slot in the bottom just in front of the attachment lug. On the other hand, it is a 31 caliber bore and is steel, so it could potentially have a breechplug installed after all of that other mess is removed and it could be a percussion derringer barrel... but I’m thinking it’s a toy barrel
