What did you shoot today?

Riomouse911:
That's a hell of a shame, and either the indoor range went bankrupt (ask about it inside a different gun shop) or there is some weird, different type of lawsuit going on ?

Without cash flow you will be very lucky if it can reopen, without a "White Knight" showing up - but not the Monty Python types.
Dunno. It seemed to be doing well, certainly much better than during ammo shortage/pandemic time. At 11 am on any weekday at least 15-20 people were in the house, after noon it had a wait list for one of the 24 lanes and a 2-hour time limit.

The first day I saw they were closed I pulled up to a coned off parking lot. I saw some lady get out of a vehicle with a sticker on the door and head towards the building as I turned around. Since there was no advance notice, this is making me think this wasn’t a scheduled thing but maybe an official shut-down type situation. :(

I know a guy who is friends with one of the primary folks there, I will hit him up to see if he can find out what is up.

Until then, the only options are to drive 25 miles to the next closest indoor ranges. One is OK but small and super crowded, the other one is in the ghetto. (I am afraid of a car burglary there!) I guess I will wait for the waters to recede and the outdoor range to reopen to us limited members, so I can go shoot there (on Fridays only).

Stay safe.

Shot myself today with the CZ75. Copper plated lead bounced off the steel and hit my in the shoulder. Took a couple steps back. About as hard as dropping a small pebble on your foot. Also shot the Beretta APX and the Mossberg MC1. Fun afternoon.
Glad you didn’t lose an eye, a tooth or something worse! :what:

Stay safe.

My buddy called the employee today. I guess it took longer than they expected to get stuff done, they should be open by next Monday.

Stay safe.

Agree, I wear shooting glasses. It hit me so softly that I didn't know exactly what it was. Looked on the ground at a piece of lead. Tried to pick it up but it was hot. I dropped it immediately. I don't shoot jacketed at the metal targets except at distance. I was about 25 yards from the target.

If I can ask, was the steel stationary or swinging, 90 degree angle or slanted?

My reservist club's pistol range is now open again after winter. Still some snow on the ground but the weather is very nice. Was there tonight and shot my old Pardini SPE 22LR target auto and an even older S&W 14-2. Been shooting air pistols the whole winter but nothing beats the real powder burners.

Jealous I am, would love to have that wide open space to shoot in with such a great backstop.

Load testing at the club today. 8x57 handloads in the K98 Mauser and 7mm-08 loads in the T/C Encore rifle. Put a Williams Fire Sight fiber optic front sight on the Mauser over the winter. Today was the first time out with the new sight. Really helps the sight picture.. IMG_8383.JPG .K98:. IMG_8384.JPG ..Encore: IMG_8391.JPG .. Then had the CZ-455 out for the first time this year. Put 5 different brands of 22LR through it and it seems to like them all, but some better than others. IMG_8392.JPG ..First time this year I was shooting in a tee-shirt. Gotta love it. Spring has sprung.

VZ-58 in 7.62X39: it's Not a variation of any gun--No Parts/No Mags interchange with anything.
And M1A , a clone of M-14.

Many novices and lurkers likely have No Idea what an M1A is - never mind a VZ-58.
Let's not assume that new people are familiar

"hickock45" demonstrates the stark design differences between the VZ-58 and the AKM.
