What do YOU carry, and exactly how often do you carry it?

I carry full-size guns. There's either a Sig P220 on my hip, or a Sig Pro 2340. I guess the Sig Pro qualifies as "compact," but it's not a small gun. I have other, bigger guns that I have carried, but those 2 are the main carry guns. Right now the 220 seems to be seeing more carry action.

To be honest, I don't see what's so hard about carrying a full-sized gun. I have a bellyband holster... they're amazing. You can put anything in one of those. The guy who taught our concealed carry class showed us that you can even conceal a Desert eagle with those things! And he was not a big guy.

The bellyband is what I carry my Sig Pro in. Sometimes I wear it in the pants in the front, slightly to my strong side. Sometimes across my stomach or chest on the weak side, underneath my left arm. The bellyband also works very well in clothes that would make carrying nearly impossible without a fanny-pack (which I refuse to wear), like sweat pants or basketball shorts. That's where the front-of-the-pants method really shines. I guess we could call that the 1:00 o'clock method.

My Sig P220 alternates between the bellyband, and a Bianchi Snaplok OWB retention holster. I wear that strong (right) side at about 4 o'clock, sometimes at 2:00. With the weather being colder now, it's not really ever a problem. All of my leather coats are long, and almost all of my clothes are baggy. For summer a good Bianchi IWB (professional concealment holster) w/ denim shorts and big t-shirt works fine.

I'd like a smaller gun for CCW. When I get one, well... I have large hands - so it's not practical for me to even think about a Rohrbaugh (sp?) or a Kel-tec sized pistol. I also have personal issues with carrying anything smaller than a 9mm. A G26 (any sub-compact Glock, for that matter) or a J-frame revolver is about as small as I'd go.

I carry everyday, everywhere I can legally do so. Haven't had any problems of any kind yet. It's never been a problem. Hope it stays that way! :)

SigSauer P232 stainless. FMJ in the pipe, followed by 7 Speer Gold Dots in the mag, and an extra mag also filled with Gold Dot.
I carry it IWB with an AKJ Concealco holster, and keep it on me most of the day, every day, even when at home.
It only ever leaves my side when I go to school (for legal reasons).

I plan to get Ruger SP101 3" for when I hike, and for winter carry as soon as I can work up the money to afford it.

Don't discount them yet. I also have fairly large hands, and fairly thin front-to-back. To put it in perspective, my Desert Eagle .50 is quite comfortable for me; I have a little better than a half inch overlap of thumb and middle finger when holding it. despite this, I have not found my P3AT or P32 too small to comfortably handle.

They may not work for you, but it can't hurt to give 'em a try;)

If you can hold a .50 comfortably with one hand, then your hands are bigger than mine... lol! I'll have to get my hands on one of those Kel-tecs and see how I like it... Thanks MachIV!

They make a 9mm, right?

Full size: Ed brown government in a Milt Sparks VM2, Speer 230 grain Gold Dots

Medium: H&K USP Compact 9mm with heinie straight eights in a comp-tac pro undercover (soon I'll switch to Comp-tac infidel and maybe a VM2 for that). I use Speer 124 +p's in that

Small: Glock 26 in a pro undercover.

I probably carry the USP the most, and the G26 I carry when I have to wear suits.

Right now I have on a Taurus Mil Pro .40s&w strapped to my right ankle. Very comfortable and with ten .40 rounds I feel it's enough.

Wherever legal; either a Glock 27 during the warmer months, or a GP-100 when a light jacket is necessary. As a widebody, I can hide everything up to a 4" S&W 29, but usually stick with the Glock or Ruger.

3" 65-3 in a desantis holster with a 642-2 in
a front pocket. The 65-3 comes off at work
but the 642-2 stays in the pocket.I have a 3"
10-7 and a 3" charter arms bulldog that i
sometimes carry for a change.

They make a 9mm, right?

Yup. The P11 and the currently-hard-to-find-but-soon-readily-available PF-9. Both are larger than teh P3AT, but still pretty darn small. I plan to pick up a PF-9 as soon as my local dealers have them. Should retail for about what the P-11 does (+/-$270).

I love Kel-Tec. American owned and made, lifetime arranty, good quality, excellent CS, perfect for their intended purpose and priced right. Some people crap on them, but most owners love 'em.

daily carry

Usually, I carry ever day.

Most often, a SW 637 Airweight .38 in a Kramer paddle holster or a Kramer pocket holster.

If I am going "light" a Keltec .380 in an Uncle Mikes holster

If I am dressing up, Kimber Ultra CDP II in a Millt Sparks Summer Special IWB

For outdoors and hiking, usually Glock 17 with trijicon sights and a Streamlight M6 laser/light combo, in a Fobus paddle holster

When not carrying my Glock 22 I usually carry a Kel-tec
9mm - once in awhile a .38 snubbie depending on what the situation. The glock I carry in a fobus paddle holster - the 9mm in a don hume IWB holster -very easy to conceal - I used to use a Glock 27 - I got rid of it and have regretted that decision every day since - If I had one that would probably be the only CCW gun I would use when not working.

Full size Kimber CDP II with a Colt Mustang Pocketlite as backup (usually in a cargo pocket)...carry this every day, all day.

My ALWAYS gun is a Kel_tec P3AT (.380) in a Desanti Nemesis in my front pocket.

I currently ad either a CZ-100 (9mm) or CZ RAMI (.40) to it when I can, but always in the truck.

BUT

I recently purchased a Taurus PT145SS (.45) to take the place of the CZs.

I still need to put more rds thru the PT145 before it replaces the CZs.

When outside the house I carry everywhere, all the time. At home, if it is not on me, I always have a gun close at hand.

On-duty I carry a HK USP Compact .357sig, my BUG is a Kel-tec P3AT. The rest of the time it varies based on what I'm doing, where I'm going, and what I'm wearing. Generally I carry the HK. If it's warm and I'm wearing lighter clothing it's a Bulldog .44spl. When working around the house and property it's a Taurus 4410 and when dressed to go out or when anything else is just too big it's the P3AT by itself.

I own a Kel Tec 9mm 911
When do i carry it ? Only to the gun range,
I have no use for a gun elsewhere.

My Keltec P3AT is always in my pocket unless sleeping.

Anywhere outside of the house, I usually have my EAA Witness 10mm with a total of 46 rounds of 180gr silvertips.

Occassionally, I will carry my SA Mil-Spec 1911 with a total of 25 rounds of 230gr Ranger +P or my Glock 23 with a total of 40 rounds of 155gr Rangers instead of the Witness.

I have no trouble concealing full size pistols. The only problem I have had is my Witness and ammo is quite heavy and used to kill belts. I just got a sharkskin belt from Rafter S Gunleather and it seems to be doing well so far. Some days I will have the Witness on for 12-16 hours and it never bothers me. Actually, it bothers me more if I do NOT have it with me.

In Fl.

G-33 on ankle or PM-9 on hip according to dress. When extra comfy. P-38T in pocket. If going to big city with the familia, I do the N.Y. thing, spare mags get in the way.
Its hot hot hot most of the year here.

32NAA for pocket. If I have some cover clothing a pro raptor or ultra carry + reloads. Always have a 357 glock in a fanny pack stashed in my truck reloads and lights. I'm in the construction business so when I'm on the job I don't carry even pocket. Plenty of weapons laying around on the job. The rest of the time I usually do.

I carry where I am aloud too. I have a couple of DA/SA guns, but mostly revolvers and 1911 A-1 colt's and springfields. They all get carried to some extent, usualy in a Kramer horse-hide IWB 2 for the 1911's. Right now here at the computer I have a S&W model 1006 10mm.in a Bianchi X-15 medium vertical leather shoulder holster. This is a grate universal holster that will fit all of my guns except my 6in. revolvers. I am an average size man and the 1006 is conciled just fine with a heavy flanel shirt

Currently: Kimber Compact Stainless .45acp in Yaqui, with Schrade folder, and double mag pouch.

Severe weather: HK USP Compact, .45acp, Miami classic (three optional carry modes) with double mag pouch.

No matter what: S&W 649 .357mag 5-shot, 4 reloads (diverse carry modes).

If I'm awake and dressed, I'm carrying a firearm and at least one edged weapon. Ordinary requirements of life.

My three main carry guns are:

A pre-agreement Smith & Wesson model 629 .44 magnum with a three-inch barrel, Magnaported, crowned barrel, bead-blasted, with jeweled hammer and trigger.

A four-inch stainless Colt Python .357 magnum, Magnaported, crowned barrel, bead-blasted, with jeweled hammer and trigger.

A pre-agreement Smith & Wesson model 60 .357 magnum with a two-inch barrel, Magnaported, crowned barrel, bead-blasted, with jeweled hammer and trigger.

I carry whenever I'm beyond the front door. I drop a gun in a pocket if I go out to check the mail box or take out the trash. I drop a gun in a pocket if the door bell rings. I carry openly at work all day long; the rest of the time, I carry openly, concealed, or indifferently concealed more or less at random.
