What do you consider yourself??

You know I was asking myself this same question just last week. I do a lot of stuff...Glocks, Rugers, SGs, rifles, knives, martial arts...what do I consider myself? Some soul-searching existential reflection is needed I think.

Why do I train to shoot my G30 as fast as I can, in bursts, into one hole at 5 yds. from a semi-retentive position? 200 rounds get shot-up real quick btw. I even started to practice that way with my Ruger .357s...I know...I've even had CT surgery on both hands and elbows, and I continue to do it. Why do I love shootin lots of slugs out of the 870? I admit I love the kick and the boom. Why do I crave a Marlin 1895 in .45-.70? It does have nice furniture too. Why do I carry a Chinook everywhere, everday? I have other knives that are more concealable and faster to engage. There's just somethin about having that heavy, nasty looking, snubby-bowie knife in my pocket. Come to think of it, I've beeen beatin the crap out of a heavy bag twice a week for years and full-contact kickboxing when I get the chance(the guys at the gym think I'm a bouncer or a hitman...I'm not, but I don't tell them different). I even make my wife hold a focus bag so I can improve my roundhouse kicks on off days from the gym. I really enjoy the martial arts. At least I can say I don't go 30 mph downhill over rocks and logs when mountainbiking, like some nuts I see...but I'm workin on it!

I dunno...I'm probably a Glock Guy, reliable and easy to clean. Any psychiatrist would more likely say I was a pissed-off kinda guy.:D

Semi-auto, high capacity, lots of boom.

I have a glock and a beretta... I'm gonna save my pennies this summer and buy another pistol or maybe break down and finally buy a bolt gun.(and scope! :))

Mostly I'm a S&W 1911 semi-auto revolver guy ;) Most of my motley collection falls into either the 1911 camp (about a dozen) or the S&W revolver camp (another dozen). There's also a couple Rugers and a few Glocks. OTOH my latest buy is a Makarov ... trying to diversify, go figure. One thing, they are all shooters. Anything in the safe could go to the range today. I won't keep stuff that won't shoot.

First of all I'm an old fart, so don't get down wind of me.

I like wheel guns, semi-autos, flintlocks and cap&ball and find it impossible to say which one I like best. When I carry it's either a Smith J frame or (more and more) a 3" SP101. So I guess I'm a handgun guy.

1911 all the way. I went full circle on it, from thinking it was the relic pistol of my veteran father and uncle when I was young and ignorant and hi-cap 9s were the best thing since sliced bread to seeing that the old warhorse was timeless and widely used by people who actually had to use pistols.

So for me in handguns, if it isn't a 1911 it is largely a curiousity I admire from the detached perspective of knowing the alternatives mostly suck.

Semi-auto, but a revo is better than none at all.
Prefer Colts, I consider them the Cadillac of handguns, and I like the Best.
BHPs are a close 2nd, tho.

I'm a metalhead, and a U.S. Army CH-47 aircrewman (i.e. "hooker" or
"rotorhead"). So I guess, overall, I like loud, obnoxious stuff. That includes guns- an AK and a Remmy 700 .30-06.

Oh yeah, and I'm in the S&W semiauto minority, too :D .

ANM

I'm a Hand-held projectile launcher enthausiest.

That's "PC" for "Gun Nut," btw.

I guess I'd call myself a Weatherby guy on a Savage budget.
Looking in the gunsafe Rugers outnumber everything else in there so I guess in reality I'm a Ruger guy.
