So a couple weeks ago I got a Maverick 91 at Cabela's used for $150 which was a pretty good deal in my opinion. The shotgun itself is in pretty good condition with only thorough wear from being older and used and a few light scratches on the finish. My question is for how long did Mossberg make the 91? Looking it up I haven't been able to find much and from what I have gathered it was made for only a few years and then discontinued which would have been around the mid to late 90s. And if anyone also knows approximately how many did they produce in total of the 91? Im pretty sure its also overbored like the 835 and 935 so even if I removed the choke it still can't shoot slugs right? On the barrel itself it says "not for use with slugs" so it looks like only buckshot and birdshot for now. I also tested if 500/590/88 pistol grips are compatible with it which they are but my wrist would hate me if I shot a 3.5 inch turkey load with a pistol grip. Does anyone have any other interesting information about the 91? It's like the long lost forgotten brother of the 88.
