What do you put your ammo in

after it comes off your press? I keep my ammo in ammo cans but inside the cans I use either ziplock bags or cottage cheese/margarine plastic containers. What do you use?

MTM boxes if they're test loads, .44Mg and .44SPL, or rifle rounds. Ziplocs in ammo cans for proven handgun rounds except the aforementioned.

I have a bunch in magazines and speedloaders and a fair amount cached here and there.

Mostly stick with the MTM or Berry boxes. For the 223 I have one of the disposable Ziploc Tupperware type boxes. The small boxes are pretty cheap, and I put the MTM labels with load info on all of them.

It depends on what the ammo is for. I load pistol ammo for my dad. That ammo gets put back into factory boxes if he gives them to me with his fired brass, otherwise I put it in a re-purposed plastic container of some sort. My range ammo gets put in ammo cans, loose packed. Any "special" ammo I load up gets put into MTM ammo boxes, then put in ammo cans. It's all kept in the house away from any pipes that could burst/leak/whatever or any sources of heat.

My 9mm rounds I keep in the Win paper boxes the factory ammo came in, and I properly mark them with my info.

Rifle rounds I use some MTM ammo boxes.

I use plastic coffee cans. I get an unlimited supply at work. They're tough, cheap, durable, and have a grip. A can will hold about 350 loaded .38spls.

Plain 2mil plastic bags. I tape them over and put them in an ammo can. For me, Ziplock bags are too expensive for something that's going to crud up, stretch, tear, or be premature thrown away out of convenience after only a couple uses.

Have a few nicer boxes to keep test loads separated by charge/weight.

Mostly just reuse the plastic trays from the days before reloading.

Glad "Press and Seal" wrap works wonders as an easy-seal custom sized envelope to keep them in the trays during transport. Versatile stuff.

I used to do that with packing stretch film.

For kicks, I have taken these trays to my table saw to turn them into lids. For 40SW, I have a few perfectly sized 50 rd trays with tape on lids using PMC ammo trays. This is nice, since MTM refuses to make them.

But I eventually got lazy. I still have some of my expensive hollowpoints stored in theses tray boxes, but I use plastic bags for 99% of my ammo, now. The only problem is plastic bags of ammo don't stack.

I'm still trying to invent a machine that can wrap/heatshrink 50 rds of ammo in a perfect rectangular brick. Stack it on the shelf. Take it to the range. Dispose of the 1 gram of plastic.

I dig through the range trash bin and collect ammo trays. My favorite trays are from blazer/federal 9, 38 & 380. White and a "tube" for each round. 4 of em fit perfectly in the bottom of a 50 cal can.

I'm new at this but I use HEAVY Zip locks for test cartridges and repurposed Jif peanut butter jars for production. (I knew they would come in handy one day!)

I use the little plastic container's you get from the deli at Walmart they are clear they have lids and are easy to label.

Mostly, I use plastic ammunition boxes stored in military ammunition cans. When I run out of the plastic boxes, I use zip-loc stye bags, 50 rounds per bag

Lots of 30-06 are stored in en blocs in bandoliers in metal ammunition cans.

Lots of 223 Remington are stored in stripper clips in metal ammunition cans.

Lesser quantities like 32-20, .218 Bee, 30-30, etc, in plastic ammo boxes.

Mass quantities like .223, .45 ACP, .38 Spl, etc. in zip-lock freezer bags 100 per bag, in GI ammo cans.

Another vote for old factory ammo boxes. They're plentiful at the range. The best part is that they're free. I stick an Avery label on them and note what's in the box, and store the finished product in GI ammo cans.

I never did care to store or carry loose ammo in bags.

I buy the white cardboard boxes with the foam inserts in several different sizes. Once I have a specific caliber loaded to spec, I type the specs on an index card, tape it on the front of the box, put the completed loads in. When the box is empty, you have the specs right on the front, simply reload to the specs and fill the box again, no fuss, no muss :D

I put specific amounts of ammo in Zip-Loc freezer bags with a paper stating load and QTY. I use freezer bags only as they are rugged and do not split/spill even with 75 rounds of 308 or 30-06 in each one, I just press the excess air out before I close the zip seal. Those I then put in GI ammo cans of various sizes for secure long term storage. I use scrounged empty ammo trays/boxes for what I take to the range. Or the Zip-Loc bags in a plastic coffee container if I need to. As you can see there are many different solutions to your problem.:)
