When I was a lot younger, I shot about 99% magnum ammo in my Magnum revolvers. So much so, that I wore out my early S&W Model 66 revolver. My local gunsmith was able to resurrect it a couple of times, but the third time, he told me he could do no more and it would have to go back to S&W. S&W replaced everything except the frame and side plate. It's life was much easier after that . It never got shot much afterwards, and I still have the old gun. Now days, if I shoot a .357 revolver, it's usually with .38 Spcl. ammo.
