What do you think of Falcon Optics?

I've had a friend tell me about a Falcon Menace he ordered from this site and he loves it. The prices seem almost too good to be true. I'm having a hard time finding them on a US site also. Is the only option to order them from over seas? I'm just wondering how they are? Have any of you used them and compared them to something like a Burris or similar Leupold? Do they hold up well? Are they clear? Do they track reliably? Just didn't want to waste my money if they are crap.

After some more searching I found a review at SnipersHide saying that the failure rate seems to be pretty high. So this doesn't seem like a scope for me. Any other suggestions for a similar type scope with similar features?
 
Check out the optics made by Vortex. They have or are shortly releasing a line of tacticool scopes with lit reticles and such for a very reasonable price. Personally, I pay less attention to things like lit reticles and bullet drop compensators and pay more attention to glass quality. If you are just looking for good glass, you should take a look at Weaver, Bushnell Elite, and Sightron.

I recently got a Sightron 1.25-5X20 Big Sky and the glass is clearer than that of my ACOG.

In any case, if the FM type scope that you linked to is what you have your heart set on and the Vortex scopes are out of your price range, the Milletts are pretty popular. I liked mine. The glass was ok and it had all of the bells and whistles.

I mostly care about the quality of the glass and the ability for it to track correctly when adjusting it as well as it being able to hold zero. However, I'd like to have the the tactical knobs so that I can easily adjust it when trying to shoot long distances. I'd also like to have a mil dot reticle but that's not required I don't guess. I don't care about illuminated reticles or any of that stuff really.
 
I bought a SWFA "Super Sniper". It had a few flaws, but I liked the glass. For the price it is decent, thought I would go to Sniper Central web sight and read their reviews of scopes if I wanted more discriminating scope views.

Take a look at the new Vortex Viper PST series. Some are even available in FFP. What is your maximum optics budget?

IMO, TonyAngel is on the right track. I've heard nothing but good about the Sightron scopes. I'm seriously considering the Sightron SII 6-24x42 scope with the fine crosshairs and dot reticle for my Remington 700 VLS rifle in 6mm. It's $435 from SWAFA. Unless you live in the UK, problems with any scope you buy, should they occur, would be easier to correct in the country where you live.

The 4-16x Sightron SII scopes are less expensive and all have target knobs. Sightron has a lifetime warranty as well.

My thoughts above are just a suggestion. The most important thing is to do your homework before paying your hard earned money.

I thought that the SII-Big Sky was the only model with target knobs? Perhaps I am wrong, either way they build an outstanding scope...easily one of the best values (along with Vortex).

Check out the Mueller tactical line. I have a 8.5-25x44 mildot scope on my .223 and its a pretty decent scope. I still plan on changing it out for something better but I got it with my .223 and its impressed me for such an inexpensive scope.

I will say that all the Sightron scopes I have checked out were very nice.
