Interesting facts-This is not a test; the math is already done!

(A) The number of physicians in the U.S. is
700,000
(B) Accidental deaths caused by Physicians
per year are
120,000.
(C) Accidental deaths per physician
is
0.171.
Statistics courtesy of U.S. Dept of
Health Human Services.
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
Now think about this:
Guns:
(A) The number of gun owners in the U.S.
is
80,000,000.
(Yes, that's 80 million..)
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
(B) The number of accidental gun deaths
per year, all age groups,
is
1,500.
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> >>>>>
(C! ) The number of accidental deaths
per gun owner
is
.000188.
Statistics courtesy of FBI
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
So, statistically, doctors are approximately
9,000 times more dangerous than gun owners.
>>>>>>>>>>>>>> >>>>>>
Remember, "Guns don't kill people, doctors do."

lol....

"guns don't kill people doctors do" <<----- that's one of the funniest things i have seen in awhile might have to add that to my sig line. For real though those statistics show that guns are not as bad as people make them out to be.

I broke my leg last year, I reset it myself before I went to the hospital. They x-rayed my leg and sent me home after missing the fact that my leg was broken. I got a cast three days later after my leg turned black. Yea, I believe the statistics. :what: The emergency room charged me $700.00 and I refused to pay the bill.

i knew there was a reason i didnt trust those people! by those people i mean doctors.

64,999,987 Gun owners didn't kill anyone yesterday. although, I've never seen a source for that number, I'd bet way more than that didn't kill anyone.

I pissed off one of my ER docs with this years ago. Very anti-RKBA guy. Just to rub it in, I addressed him as "Killer" for a week or so and would walk around saying - "Remember, diseases don't kill. Doctors do." My boss finally told me to knock it off because he was whining so much.

It's nonsense.

It leaves out the number of lives saved and improved by physicians.

Just as do anti-gun folks when they focus "gun deaths," ignoring lives saved and crimes prevented by firearms.

Let us not use the same disingenuous tactics as do our opponents.

Do you have any idea how many people die in Hospitals each year???
Forget about your bathroom.
Hospitals have to be the most dangerous places on earth.

And they're filled with (gasp) Doctors.

Right. The folks the the docs killed may have been dead faster without the doc.

And folks killed with guns may have, ummm... KILLED SOMEONE FIRST with their gun before they were eliminated as a threat.

Or something like that.

I don't see how that's relevant. It doesn't take into account the number of lives saved buy gun owners either, not the point. There's no doubt we're not talking apples to apples, but it just a funny little comparison, not definitive evidence of: guns vs Doctors

That comparison is useful to bring up when a medical type starts preaching on the evils of gun ownership and firearm accident rates, not good for much else though.

They're also filled with people that are very sick and near death. Its not like a big building full of healthy people. People actually GO there to die.

Alright, it's like this.

Talking about the cost of something without also talking about the benefit of something is ignoring half of the ratio.

How efficient is your car?

It's 2 gallons efficent.

Huh?

It costs you 2 gallons to get you there so your car is 2 gallons efficent.

Oh, you mean there's another number that matters, like how far you went?

Oh, I see. You went 50 miles on those 2 gallons, so your car is 25 miles per gallons efficient. When you have both a cost and a benefit, then you have something to talk about.

Same thing with deaths caused by doctors. Without lives saved or improved by doctors, it means nothing.

Same thing with deaths caused by firearms. Without lives saved or crimes defeated by firearms, it means nothing.

This is chest beating that defames the medical profession and does nothing for our side.
