I was just looking at it and couldn't figure out what the "R P" stood for on the Remington UMC ammo. Just curious and wanting to know.

ps I just started to reloading and would like to say that it is addictive!

Peters was bought by Remington and became Remington-Peters. UMC is Union Metallic Cartridge.

Old .45 Brass

I have .45acp Brass with those old headstamps and they are in good enough condition to shoot. .

Have some 38 experimental stuff with plastic cases, 38/44 cases, rimless38's and large primers hole .38 cases

Yeah, but do ya have one of these? It's on my shop wall. :)

The oldest Peters ammo I have in my collection/stash are a couple of boxes of .45 I have both 185 SWC and 230 gr hardball. The headstamp is Peters .45 Auto.

Peters Rustless priming was the exact same thing as Remington's Kleenbore. I have some Remington ammo from the same time period (early 1950s) that are headstamped REM-UMC.

I fired a box of the 230 gr about two years ago and fired 20 rounds over the chronograph at around 875fps. I think the variation was less than 15fps.

My box of Peters .41 magnum is headstamped R-P. Notice that Peters had ditched the Rustless name and gone with the more recognizable Kleenbore Priming.

I paid $9.50 for the entire box at Seller's Hardware in Okolona Kentucky in 1978.
