My wife's first gun was a Star Firestar 9mm in nickel. It was very compact, and fit her hands well. It was a steel frame and was a bit heavy. The biggest problem was the it was ammo senitive. It was starting to be a jam-o-matic.
One Saturday she went with me to the range. The department I worked for was going to allow the deputy to carry privately owned Glocks for duty, so a rep from Glock was at the range with all the models and all the ammo. She got a hold of a Glock 23 and loved it. She actually asked the rep to sell her the sample gun.
The next week we sold the Firestar, and found her a like new Glock 23 with Trijicon sights. She is rarely without it.
Now if I could get her into AR-15's.
