I understand that the term "boolit" was coined by enthusiasts to distinguish hand cast projectiles (boolits) from machine made (cast, swaged, turned, etc.) projectiles (bullets). It doesn't bother me in context.
Running.
I have, but I am not sure what your point is ...Never saw a HK P7 I take it?
I hear people say "I like striker fired guns". I have nothing against striker fired guns, most of my rifles are striker fired. I just think the term is ambiguous in that context. Are you annoyed when it's used incorrectly or used at all? Obviously it doesn't mean polymer framed. There are poly frame guns that are hammer fired and metal frame guns that are striker fired (or whatever term you prefer).
I hate those guys! The real complaint is that I was a contractor working overseas for several years, and when I went home between deployments, I trained in all of my STUFF because I was actually training, but it bothered me that I resembled these idiots. I just hope I looked enough like I knew what I was doing not to be confused with the ebay ninjas. Hopefully the worn out GEAR, beat up GUNS, and lack of operator clothing helped. Never wore the helmet though, since I rarely wore one when deployed.
I don`t pay much attention to what people call a thing as long as I can understand what they mean. If I don`t know what they are referring to I ask. There are however three words that make my eye roll back in me head, those words are "cop killer bullets"
Watching a recent new TV show about a recent crime and they say " suspect went into a gun shop and bought armor piercing cop killer bullets".
Ammo was hand gun ammo.
"Kit" is the "stuff" that is put in the "kit bag"...So kit = man purse. And has since before the birth of christ......noted
Your earlier post made it seem like you were talking about pistols. Striker fired pistols are distinctly different than other types, so it makes sense that there are people who like them better, just like SAO or DA/SA.I hear people say "I like striker fired guns". I was running a gold bead on my shottie for a long time, but I upgraded and now I am rocking a red dot.
-Using "caliber" and "gauge" interchangeably - I've wound up with books from Britain that talk about 12 caliber guns (sometimes rifles!) and .44 gauge pistols.
-Fully semi-automatic high-powered assault rifles.
Most of mine are from the media and politicians. Examples: High Caliber Magazines. Common Sense Gun Safety. Assault Rifle. High Powered Weapon. Gun Nuts. I loved it a couple years ago when, I believe it was Feinstien, said "we don't need to worry about those high caliber clips cause when they're used up they are no good anymore."

-For artillery and naval guns, the barrels are measured in "calibers" which is how many projectile diameters it would take to equal the barrel's length.Ask someone what caliber means for naval guns.
So, with that in mind, if this is actually a magazine by definition why does it have "Clip" written on it.CLIP instead of a magazine
magazine : a container in a gun for holding cartridges. clip : a device to hold cartridges for charging the magazines of some rifles from webster. So, with that in mind, if this is actually a magazine by definition why does it have "Clip" written on it.

These are actually for a Savage Model 340 which was actually marketed under a few names like Revelation 225 (Western Auto). Anyway, you would think Savage would know what to call the thing? Always wondered about those and the terminology.
Ron
Maybe, maybe not. Maybe clips can be different from magazines and the same as magazines. Maybe Webster is gullible. Maybe Webster is wrong about clips and magazines just like it is about precision and accuracy. Maybe all the hullabaloo about the difference is just BS. Maybe Savage does know what is what, and clips not always being different from magazines is what is what. Could we tolerate that? I know I could. What do I care what you call it?magazine : a container in a gun for holding cartridges. clip : a device to hold cartridges for charging the magazines of some rifles from webster.
