What gun/guns have you been reluctant to buy that turned out to be your favorite?

Glock 19, then 23. Never looked back. Except to try and dethrone the 23 with about 5 different more "advanced designs" that all fell by the wayside as I asked myself why I would replace the perfect carry pistol.

Browning Hi-Power - I thought how could it be worth it. It is sooooo worth it.
CZ 85B - I thought how could it be as great as everyone says. Best value I have ever purchased.

Three guns come to mind....

1) Boberg XR9S....got on a one year wait list for the initial introductory production run. Absolutely the best compact 9mm I've ever seen. Engineering, workmanship, and performance are stunning.

2) Winchester Model 52 (.22 target rimfire), bought it because the bolt seemed beefier than any I'd ever seen on a .22. Later found out it was the king of .22 target rifles. Now own six in various configurations.

3) Colt Sauer Rifle (.270).....didn't really know much about it but the bolt action was like ball bearings. Smoothest action and best bluing job I've ever seen on a production rifle.
