What gun or guns have you regretted selling?

S&W Mod. 13-3 that I purchased new back in the 80's. SIG P220 Stainless that I purchased new, 2004 something. Sold both to fund other purchases.

How long do you have? I let go of a washtub of 1911 pistols in the 70's. Ruger number 1's marked 200th year of Americas liberty. HK91, many S&W 29 revolvers. I didn't see the value at the time. Hindsight is 20/20.

Generally I only sell something that I haven't shot in a long time. One that I regret, but mostly because I sold it a year too soon. 1957 Marlin SD 30-30. I more than doubled my money on it, but I probably could have doubled that if I sold it in the last couple years instead of in 2019.

I am MUCH better at buying guns than I am at selling them.

There have been very few guns that I have parted with over the years and none of them give me any regrets. The first gun I disposed of was a Ruger P85 that I traded straight across for my Beretta 92 INOX (the 6 Ruger magazines were worth well over $100 each since this was during the Clinton national hi-cap mag ban so the dealer thought he stole them from me). A Remington 870 that I would always short stroke and could never hit anything with. My girl friend really liked shooting my CZ 75D compact so I gave it to her after spending a few days at the range with her teaching her proper gun handling. The CZ 75D compact was too small for my XXL hands so I could never shooti it well, it always bit my fat trigger finger and the distance to the trigger was MUCH to short for me... she loved it so I am glad it found a good home.

I can't think of any other guns that I have parted with in the last 35 years... maybe I am a bit of a hoarder.

I had a couple of buddies that would buy and sell quite a bit. They would want to sell or trade in a nice firearm on something new so I would always offer them cash to match whatever the guy at the gun show offered them in trade in. I have a nice pair of Remington 700 target rifles in .308 and .223 that one of the friends was going to use as down payment on a car. I didn't have much need but I have certainly enjoyed them over the years. This is also where I picked up a couple of nice 1911's that had been worked over by a gunsmith. The guys at gun shows don't put any value in work that has been done on a firearm when evaluating trade in value.

Haven't Sold or traded since the 80s. I regret every one before that. This past month I been thinking of selling two guns to finance a new gun. But, I can't bring myself to do it.

I have only sold guns to buy other guns so I have no regrets. I am selling a shotgun right now to get a new rifle.
Same here. I only sold guns to buy something else better and I wanted more. I also typically sold dime a dozen guns that can easily be replaced. Even if it's a decade later and it's currently expensive and no longer being made, if I want the gun that bad, I'd puy the current price to get another one.

Only one gun have I ever sold and it was a "trade". Back in the mid-70s, I traded the first handgun I ever bought, a Ruger .22LR semi pistol with the round receiver and a 7" barrel, for an Astra Constable in .380. I didn't have enough funds to buy the Astra outright so I traded the Ruger as a down payment.
I'm still kicking myself for that. And that is why I have never sold or traded any gun ever since, even when I could have used the cash.

I have only had a few get away. A Glenfield .22 that never made it through a magazine without a jam that got swiped , (didn't miss that one too much) A single shot .20 Gauge that I got for $20 and sold for $40 that went to a friend , and a .44 Mag. Redhawk that I had to part with I was short on funds and something had to go. My S&W 29 shot better for me so I sold the Ruger to a friend , and kind of lost track of him . That one I really miss .
