What Guns and Suppressors do you plan on buying if the HPA passes?

I already have a bunch of rimfire hosts. When the market settles down and shakes out I'll be purchasing a suppressor for each host.

Then a couple of .223 suppressors, and a .308 suppressor.

As for firearms. A factory integral suppressed Ruger 10/22. Threaded barrels and suppressors for some of my XD pistols, my Glock 20, Glock 19, possibly have one of my 1911 pistols fitted with a threaded barrel.

I'll have to have my Savage 10 FCP HS barrel threaded.

What would I buy? --- All of them. :) If the prices came down a bit, I would probably start getting them to pair with every caliber I had and look at threaded barrel options. I wouldn't be able to do it right away and not every gun would be compatible. Suppressed lever gun sounds like a good idea.

The law I heard about took suppressors off the NFA, but still made you do a NICS check. I would think homemade suppressors would be handled similar to homemade firearms. No issues as long as you don't start selling them without serial numbers.

What I hope is the Trump administration will get the BATFE off the stick and stop holding up paperwork. Maybe bring back the electronic registration and get the approval process streamlined so it doesn't take so long. Even if the new law doesn't pass for a while, figure the approval process will start getting quicker.

If HPA passes I believe it's supposed to be like getting a gun, you fill out the form, they background you while you wait, then you walk out with it in 20 minutes if you pass.

I already "bought" a Rebel .22 can in October. I'm hoping that if it takes long enough I might be able to pick it up in the spring without needing the $200 stamp. Not sure how that will work........if it does.

I always though a suppressor on home defense guns would be great, especially an AR. I dread the thought of having to fire rounds indoors in a self defense situation with the family home without hearing protection.

I don't know enough about suppressor to know how feasible it is on a shotgun, but if they are no longer NFA items, I will have a lot of interest in them for most of my guns aside from ccw guns.

I agree there will be a mad rush too, do you think gun stores would raise the prices of their current suppressors right before the law came into effect to take advantage of this?

I think some will, some won't. I also wouldn't be surprised to see a manufacturer price increase as well, to help coffer up for what I would hope would be capital investment in expansion. Eventually the situation would stabilize, prices would drop, more manufacturers would come on scene, and everything would come up roses and daisies. At least that would be my hope.

I am hoping that the HPA passes but living in CA, I may have trouble getting one anyway.

Should I figure out a way, one for the Sig P226 and one for the AR. If they make a threaded barrel for a P239, then that, too.

I have been looking into sound supressors for a while now, around 3 years. I would not rush to buy one but an easing of restrictions would make it more realistic to own. No worries of trusts or dealing with NFA. I would get a .30 cal rifle supressor as soon as possible. I want to lessen the db of my hunting rifles and I have a lower that may get a 300aac upper. I would like a .22 can for rimfire as well.

I would expect to see a lot of firearms come with factory OEM integral suppressed barrels. Ruger .22s for example are just begging for integral suprressed barrels. ARs and pistol caliber sub guns seem a no brainer.

Talked with a friend who said probably a lot of these coming out most likely and also a lot of guns coming out with suppressors already on them as a package.

I could see a lot of this. A lot of the big name companies coming out with gun + suppressor packages that either have a well-known can on them or they start making their own cans in-house and sell the packages.

If the HPA passes, I don't know that I will be buying any new guns, but I will likely get a couple barrels threaded to accept suppressors and will likely get a .22 lr suppressor to go with the the 30 cal I already have.

It will be interesting to see what barrel companies start selling integrally suppressed barrels, such as for the AR15. I might go with rebarreling and AR15 or two. :)

A .22 silencer, a .223 one, and a .38 revolver silencer just like in the sting (just kidding about the last one).

So you'll be selling them for next to nothing?

Don't you wish...:p
If legal, I may make one just as an interesting project but they don't do anything for me.
Actually all of the .22 supressors I've seen have to use subsonics to be reasonably quiet (about like a pellet gun).
I'll just continue to use my pellet gun. It's a whole lot cheaper.

deadin,
Ah but with airguns, you don't get that Hollywood Ninja assassin tingle where a .300 Win Mag with suppressor sounds like a whisper. Just kidding.

A .22 can for my 10/22, a .30 cal for my .308, and possibly a 6.5mm can for my Grendel (though I may just use a .30 cal can instead).

I won't be buying anything right away. If it passes, I figure the prices will drop within a year to a fraction of current prices due to increased manufacturing. More cans being produced = more efficient processes at a lower production cost = lower retail price.
