I was out of the country since Dec 08. Just trying to check on on CalGuns and the site no longer works.

What happened???

They started using a different server since you last visited, IIRC. You're using the URL (www.calguns.net) and not an IP address, right?

You have no idea how many forum operators forget to pay their domain name bill, and have a healthy large forum.

If the operator only changes the domain, but keeps all the content the same, Google will pick it up shortly.

Look at what happened to [noparse]http://www.akforum.net[/noparse]

The owner forgot to pay his domain bill and it lapsed, the domain vultures saw he had thousands of page views per hour and wanted several thousand dollars for the domain. If you visit the site above, it's a "this domain available" ad farm.

The members of that forum now visit [noparse]http://www.[/noparse]the[noparse]akforum.net[/noparse]
