I am in the mood to buy something modern for a change. I have been buying C&Rs and while they are neat and have their place, shooting modern and "tactical" type guns is fun also. I have a Beretta 92FS that I love so it can be another variation on that theme but I would like to try something new. I am thinking Glock 19 or maybe another type of Beretta like the 92G Brig in SS and night sights.

The limited production CZ75B TACTICAL. CZ hi-caps are much cheaper than
other 15 shot mags.

Nothing wrong with a Glock 19 if you don't prefer steel or alum framed
guns.

IMHO A Beretta feels "Clunky" compared to a CZ. I've had both..was
more accurate with the CZ.

Cast another vote for the outstanding CZ's! I have had a rock solid CZ 75BD for 2 years and 8000+ rounds (lost exact count), and would buy CZ again without hesitation. Any of the CZ 75/85 variants merit serious consideration.

Define "good", "modern", and (especially) "tactical"...

...Because that little exercise was what US police departments amused themselves trying to do for about 15 years. Sometimes I think they just got bored because when the .40 S&W ctg. came along they all ran off in that direction for a while.

IMHO "good" means that it always, always works; fits your hand, and does the jobs you need to do very well time after time after time.

"Modern" is salesman's terminology. The BHP is 69 years old this year. I have two 9s and both are BHPs. Modern enough for me.

I have no idea what "tactical" means. Hell, it's just a pistol.

Beretta 92D Centurion! Uses the magazines you already have, accurate, DA only without a safe to mess with in a tactical situation. Roughly the size of a Glock 17 with it's 4.3 in barrel. Fast becoming my favorite 9mm!

A Glock 19 is on my list of goodies to get. But, for the time being I have a SIG-Sauer P228 and it's a great pistol. It's definitely worth a look.

I'll see your CZ 75B, 92FS, XD-9, and G19, and raise you my Sig P228; seriously, all very good choices.

Glock, HK, SIG, Springfield, CZ...

They're all good. Go to the range and try them all, then look around for good deals on the ones you like best.

clipse, you need to stop posting that pisture, or I'm going to end up sleeping in the doghouse with a new P-01 as my pillow...

A modern 9mm? No question in my mind... The CZ PCR or CZ P-01.

I'll go with cratz2 and clipse's choice the CZ P-01. I will agree that some good choices have been mentioned though.

Glocks seem to have the reputation. They're easy to work on and relatively cheap compared to the other brands. I've always had 100% reliability with my Glocks, no complaints there.

Then again Beretta's just kick so much @$$!:D
