What is considered "good" .22 ammo?

CCI Standard Velocity works well in most pistols and it sufficiently accurate for bullseye shooting at 50 feet. There is however the rare pistol which just does not function with CCI-SV. By all means stay away from the bargain basement and high velocity ammo.

I'll put another vote for CCI mini mags. Second choice is Stingers, third Velocitors. I don't shoot bare lead at all except for CBs and Super Colibris.

I've got a couple boxes of the 525 count Remington brass plated hollow point. They are good for bolt guns, but in both my Ruger 10/22 and 22/45 they show erratic performance and jam often. Even in the bolt gun they chrono from 990 fps to 1220 fps. You can see the slow ones in the 22/45, the bolt moves really slowly.

CCI stingers are my favorite. In the pistol, the muzzle flash is pretty distracting, though.

I also like the federal auto match. Its the most consistant inexpensive ammo I have shot thru any of my pistols.

I only use Wildcat in my 10/22.

In my T/C Contender 10" and 14" match barrels, I only use Federal Gold Medal ammo, but I usually only use those guns in IHMSA.

I use only Eley in my Anschutz Exemplar.

I have a Ruger Mark III Hunter on the way...what do you guys use in it that works the best???

22 Ammo

I bought some Eley Practice for $2.00 per box at Camp Perry.

It is a good to very good intermediately priced round.

Eley can be bought from internet sites. You can shop around and perhaps
find some good bargains on very good ammo.

Every Eley round I have fired went bang and never caused a jam in several
22 pistols.

As stated before, your gun may like something else other than those mentioned. The hunt for good 22 is indeed fun, but can be frustrating!!
