I have another Cooper M21 in .204 Ruger but in a Phoenix configuration that shoots the same hand load and is as accurate as the MTV:

First is a custom Mauser I built in the 60s in 243. The second is a Mosin Nagant M39. Both shoot less than 1 inch at 100 yards. I have a couple 91-30 Mosin Nagants that are almost that good. They are Finn rifles....chris3

I own some nice rifles, but I got a cheap Stevens 200 in 7mm-08 that shoots dime groups. got several other bolt actions that shoot 1" regular but that ugly cheap 200 with a 3x9x50 Nikon Buckmasters amazes me.

Most of my rifles are capable of close to 1/2" at 100 yards. But the best is my Remington 700 VS in .25-06 that was rebarreled with a Krieger. This rifle is consistently just under 1/2" with a Sierra 87 gr Spitzer.

Cleanup is a breeze too. Usually 2 patches unless it's been a very active day of shooting.

My older left-handed Tikka M595 in .243 . It shoots better than I can hold it, and what more can we ask of any rifle? If I do my thing right, and under ideal conditions, I get clovers at 100yds. Anything beyond that is more likely wind-doping errors on my part.

A used, bone-stock, Savage Mod. 12 BVSS, 22-250Rem. Breaking it in with factory Remington 55gr. ammo revealed this:

SAV12BVSS1.gif

One has a group size of .368", the other is .196"; I just created it's first re-loads for it today, to be tested tomorrow.

I have an old Rem 788 in 223 with most of it's original finish and parts. Shoots better than most of my higher dollar rifles. :scrutiny:
I also shoot a Ruger M77/22 that has the target grey barrel and a laminated stock. Best shooting 22 rifle I've ever seen.....Had a few guys want to buy it after I let them shoot it. NOT FOR SALE.....EVER! :)

My Browning A-Bolt II Medallion in .300WSM (stock picture):

It took a little fine tuning to work up a consistant, accurate, fast load but it is a true tack driver now. Great trigger when adusted to minimum pull weight. I just love this rifle.

I'm working up loads for my brand new X-Bolt Medallion in .308 Winchester right now, don't have anything to report just yet but I expect it to be as good or better than the A-Bolt.

I only have two bolt guns, but both are pretty dang accurate. One is a 1984 vintage Ruger M77 with the heavy 24" barrel chambered in 308. I picked a good multi-purpose bullet and powder and tinkered with the load until I got it where I wanted it. That gun is my main hunting rifle, so it sports an older Nikon Prostaff 3-9x40. The loads I shoot are a 165 Sierra Gameking over 43 grains of 4064 in Hornady cases. I have had 5 shot groups of .77", but 1" is the norm. It just so happens that those loads are EXACTLY calibrated for my BDC reticle. Making a cold bore shot at 350 yards on an 8" steel target makes me smile.

The other would be my CZ452 Trainer. When I had the scope on it, it would shoot Federal bulk into 1.5" at 100 yards all day long. It will never wear a scope again. I have fallen in love with it's iron sights, and almost nothing is better than shooting from a standing/unsupported position and hitting what you aim at.

I won't get rid of either of them.

hey dc fireman, please post your new groups with your handloads here if you get a chance. thanks

Mine is a rifle in .308 that I built to shoot F/TR with. Remington 700 action, Krieger 26" heavy varmint profile barrel with 1:10 twist, HS Precision stock, Jewell trigger, Wyatt's bottom metal, Nightforce 5.5-22X50 scope.

Probably one of the Enfield #4s, only have the Mk. 1 type. All have aperture sights.
The Yugo Mauser 48A might depend much more on training with those lousy sights.

My guns are so fun to shoot that they are not compared, and seldom make holes in paper or plastic sheets (mostly plastic bottles).

My wife has a Sako 243 with a Nikon 2.5 X 10 X 50 (BDC) Monarch scope, and I have a Thompson Center 30-06 Venture with the same scope mounted.
Both are much more accurate than I am at 100 or less yards. Haven't tried them at longer distances but I'm sure they will both do fine for hunting purposes.
I also have a Savage 110 Pre-Accutrigger 30-06 with a Leupold Rifleman scope that can hold it's own with nearly any rifle and the right shooter.
