Probably my 629 44 mag or my 686 357 mag. A few targets shown here with the 629 using 220 grain and 240 grain magnum loads - 6 shot groups @ 25 yds.

Also a 12 shot group with the 686 , again with magnum loads.

Dunno. I can't shoot as well as any of them so cannot push them to the limit. The 6" 686+ seems to do well, but that is probably the sighting radius. On the other hand I warmed up with a couple of shots yesterday offhand position at 7yds and then cut out the X ring with the 686+. Followed up with six from the 4" M66 that all went through the X ring. :what:

The rest of the day was all downhill from there...

Dan Wessons in any caliber. I have had accurate S&W's and even Taurus's and fired accurate Rugers, but Dan Wessons are hands down the most accurate revolvers that I have ever owned, shot or seen shot. They are pretty close to the accuracy that I got from my single shot Contender handguns.

My Smith & Wesson 629PP 6" .44 mag.

It can shoot a 3 shot cloverleaf group at 25 yds from a rest using a 240 gr. Hornady XTP over 10.5 gr. of Unique (about 1200 fps).

Also can obtain 3/4" groups at 40 yds. with Magtech 240 gr. softpoint factory rounds.

Great gun.

Most Accurate

A 1931 vintage 38/44 Outdoorsman S&W.

Shoots everything I feed it into the same hole.

My 686+ is probably the most accurate revolver I own. I bought it used several months ago for $300 as a beater to keep in the car. After I cleaned it up a bit and brought it to the range, I realized what a gem I got. Not much to look at but a very accurate 4" barrel gun.

Freedom Arms 83 with 7.5" barrel...followed closely by a 6" Python. dvnv
