What is the most overpriced handgun in the market?

No I haven’t, my LGS has one for just over $5,000 but I haven’t been interested enough to handle it. Before anyone takes offense, just because I feel something is over priced, Korth, Freedom Arms, Colt etc..etc... sure doesn’t mean I wouldn’t like to own one some day and some day I probably will from the three manufacturers I just mentioned.

I doubt I'd pay $5K for a new Korth either. Freedom Arms don't seem to be overpriced for what you get, they don't appeal to me because they don't look like a traditional SAA and the unloading/loading is slow.

I was talking on the phone to an old friend I hadn't heard from in a long time I told him about this thread he said the rich people are into collecting expensive guns now and rare guns I said oh great they ruined coin collecting they ruined classic car collecting and now they're going to ruin guns when does it ever end?
If he's right this would explain a lot of these ridiculous prices we're seeing they just don't care money means nothing to them they just have to have it!:cuss:

There’s always going to be someone with more money. And when the govt now gives everyone a couple grand in fun money every few months...... the price of toys goes up.

As other posters have noted, "overpriced" is personal and subjective. Someone mentioned Kel Tec. There are several in our family: Sub 2000, HMR 30 (2), P3AT, P32, P40, PF 9, P11. Never a problem with any of them so bargains in my opinion.

Had a friend wanted to trade away a Desert Eagle .50 AE. I was surprised how much they list for new and used. Because they don't appeal to me at all, I consider them overpriced. Your mileage may differ.

M1 Carbine.

The puny poodle popper from the world war deuce, hard to find pud cartridge and all, are fetching nearly $1200 on up these days.

Insanity grips us my friends.

IMO, any firearm labeled Kimber, no offense to anyone to each their own ofcourse. However, When/if I have to carry a weapon into battle it will not be a show piece that I have never shot due to price or perfect looks. Rant over.

My vote goes to the new Korth revolvers made by Nighthawk. Fugly and tres expensive. The new Python? WIth adjustment for inflation, still not a bad value.

NHC imports them... They do not make them.

Laughable the people who think craftsmen should work for fry cook wages.

You're correct. But who're you saying thinks that "craftsmen should work at fry cook wages?" Seriously, dude.
That still does not make them works of art

I wasn't pointing fingers at you specifically as many posts refer to higher end guns . I get it, It is not your "cup of tea". That does not take away from the fact that they are definitely not made like your average Hi-point/Glock/run of the mill _____, etc .

Isn't the Anderson-Wheeler Webley VII copy in .357 running something like 10 grand? I vaguely recall a thread here on it

I find myself thinking I could sell this or that. The problem is that replacing or buying a different gun would cost more and therefore not a bargain. Time to hang onto the guns and stock of ammo. Although the SKS I paid less than 50 bucks for are selling for over 400. Who would have thought!
I saw the most rusted beat up sks recently at a shop with a muzzle brake welded onto the end of the barrel going for nearly $300.

For me, and I'm sure there are other brands, but anything Colt and Kimber are vastly overpriced for the quality of firearm you get.

Someone mentioned HK USP line…I’ll have to disagree on that. Long story short…I loaded some 40 S&W way on the light side and out of all the guns that would function the USP was the only one that was 100% through 500 rounds…the Sig, Glock, CZ and 1911 that shot them…all choked. Some of the spent casing literally rolled down the back of my hand they were that weak. Up to that time there were things about the HK I didn’t care for, but it all changed when I fired the last magazine of those 40’s.

More to the point…Colt snake guns

Most if the price is basic inflation. Add in Bush banning them decades ago for another couple bucks, you darn sure not hitting the lottery with them.

Agree with Loonwolf, the most overpriced gun is the one that is "too pretty to shoot" or "too original to modify." And I am not talking about bona fide rare collector's items, and expensive luxury models, I mean standard guns in excellent condition or a standard gun with obscure sights.

Exactly!

There is no such thing as an over priced gun. I am just an undermotivated buyer.

Ehhh...maybe in some cases. Maybe not in others. Remember when the Heckler & Koch P30 was about $860 and people would argue the question about whether it was "worth" so much more than a Glock? There was all sorts of justification as to why the P30 cost so much more. Well, HK dropped the price to about $650. Same handgun. I think you could make a pretty convincing argument that the mass-produced, plastic-framed 9mm was overpriced based on what it was when it was selling for $860 relative to other mass-produced, plastic framed 9mm handguns with similar reliability.
