What is the most painful to shoot pistol?

Autoloader? A Hi-Point 9mm.
It likes to really dig into my trigger finger - especially on the last shot or two from the mag.

For a revolver - my j-frame S&W - especially with full power loads.
I'm thinking of putting rubber grips on it.
I wish someone would make squishy grips for it like Taurus has on some of their guns.
(that's about the only thing I like about Taurus)

Ruger LCR .357

Sorry that this looks like a repeat of a later post but the message that I had here was actually meant for another thread.

Leinad .410 single shot derringer. Cheap, built like a tank, simple, and extremely painful to shoot. I've got a Kel Tec P40 and a .357, the Leinad hurts worse. At first I wondered why they used the 2 1/2 in. shells rather than letting you use the full 3 in. ones, now I know.

After a box of 25 the palm of my hand was bruised and hurt for over a week...the recoil also bruised my middle finger.

1970, saw handled (wood) with thumbrest Contender in .44 mag, the 30 herrett was tame by comparison. 240 gr lubaloy WW ammo actually hurt everyone's hand, so I got rid of it. It was like being hit with nightstick in the web of your hand.

Lol I know the feeling, thats a perfect description of how the Leinad feels too.

Any Hi Point. Really, you don't have to shoot it for the pain. Just seeing one and my eyes ache.

Seriously though, Ruger LCP and Keltek PF9. The Ruger LC9 was surprisingly much easier on the hands.

My vote goes to the .45/70 Contender. That's why I never got a .45/70 barrel for mine.

Small auto pistols, try the Radom P64 with stock grips and springs. Springs and Marchal grips helps. This gun surprised me since I don't really think my Kel Tec P11 is that bad. But, then, the Radom is a blow back, so I guess that's the reason.

The P11 is powder puff compared to the P64. I actually LOVE the trigger for CCW and shooting. The P64 had to have a hammer spring. The DA was unmanagable. It's fine, now, with a 17 lb hammer spring, but the transition is a little tough going from a heavy DA to a very light, crisp SA. I sometimes double tap when I don't really want to. But, I still like the gun. Both these guns are quite accurate.

I have an LCP, and while the loudest handgun I have it is far from being painful.

I've fired most of the above, and agree on the rifle-caliber Contenders with early (late 70s/early 80s) grips as being close to the top in uncomfortable.

Hand & finger size for some reason for me makes firing any mid-80s/early 90s S&W auto painful...the raised portion of the magazine release on the right side of the frame realy dug in to my right-hand middle finger. A few magazines and I was done.

439, 659, 5906, 4006, 645, 4567 (should have kept that one - pretty rare now), and 4506 all bit me that way.

Well, it's been said again and again, and I'll say it yet again.

The S&W 340PD.

Light, concealable, powerful. Bone snapping recoil. I hate the recoil, but I love the fact you can drop it in a pocket and forget you have it; I wouldn't trade this thing ever.

Don't know about autos. Never really fired one that was brutal. Certainly never fired anything close to that 340PD. I bet some of the T/C Contenders are pretty stout, but the 340PD has a special "SNAP!" all to its own.

For me I would say my 1911 with some of that 185gr @ 1225fps JHP Double Tap ammo. It's got a lot of real snappy pop to it.

I'd have to say the Ruger LCP 380. The LCP is my wifes concealed carry. When we go to the range though you almost have to twist her arm to get her to practice with it. She'd rather shoot my Taurus 44 with full load magnums 10 to one over the LCP. She keeps threatening to get a bigger purse for the 44 as her concealed carry LOL.

I can't ever get a decent grip on that little thing with my big hands.

I carry a SIG 229 that's quite comfy.

Had a S & W 41 mag with 6" barrel--it recoiled straight back & was murder on your wrist.
Also had a S & W 41 mag 2" barrel--recoiled up & was pleasant to shoot ?????

For me it was a Ruger LCR .357 with 158 gr ammo. I don't think that I put 10 rounds of .357 total through it. It was just too painful. Sold it and got a .38spl for a while.

I have had some fun with the T/C's in different chamberings, but the worst thing I ever shot was an XP-100 in 7mm BR. My ears ring just thinking about that one.
