What is the recoil of the Beretta Cheetah 380 acp like?

Should be less than a PPK, being a bigger gun. 9mm vs blowback guns... I don't know. A 9 ought to have more recoil (someone must've tested to see. I know that a lot of super light-weight blowbacks are more punishing in recoil than bigger calibers).
The CZ 83's basically the twin of the Cheetah in terms of dimensions and capacity... used to be, anyhow. A CZ 83 holds 12 rds, I don't know if Beretta makes higher cap mags anymore.
The CZ 83 may be heavier... but probably cheaper, and just as accurate if not more.

I have a Model 86 (the 84, 85 and 86 are all called Cheetahs, the latter being an eight-round with a tip-up barrel) as well as a Glock 19, but no Walther. As I recall (it has been some time since I've shot it), the felt recoil seemed slightly less than that of the Glock. It may have blowback operation, but the size (they're virtually the same height and length), weight, grip shape and lower-powered cartridge makes up for this. HTH

I've not fired the Beretta but have fired a Glock 19 and comparable blowback guns in .380 and 9x18. Recoil would be about the same with different characteristics, so to speak. By that I mean that the weight distribution and action of the two is different.

I have both Beretta 84 and 85. I have a Glock17 to compare as well as several other .380s and 9mms. Either Beretta is a very easy firearm to shoot IMHO because of the ergonomic design. It fits and feels exactly as a pistol this size should feel. Can you feel recoil...Yes. Is it harsh ...No. Comparing to a 9mm, I would say the Berettas are lighter in felt recoil. The only factor in making the Glock a bit more controlable is it's size.

Compared to a PPK, which I no longer have, but based on my memory, I would call the Beretta easier on the hand, less snappy. I'd take the Beretta over a PPK.

My favorite .380 is the Sig P232, which I seem to be able to shoot a little better than my Berettas. Even though the Sig is about 6 ounces lighter, it feels the same in my hand recoil wise.

In comparing the Berettas, there is a definite difference between the 85 which has a single stack, 8 round, slim grip and the double stack, 13 round grip of the 84. This may make a big difference especially if you have smaller hands.

Compared to the CZ 83 or 82, the Beretta 84 is very close in size, weight and capacity, (again the Beretta 85 grip is thinner), however the quality of the Beretta is decernably higher. The Berettas have proven to be remarkably reliable. Neither of mine have ever failed...period. Both of my CZs have. Recoil comparison between Beretta and CZ is indistiquishable. FWIW.

In all fairness I should mention that I'm not really a Glock fan. They make excellent firearms...I just don't prefer them to my favorites.

Crisp is the word I'd use. It's by no means a heavy recoil but being such a small package and a blowback design all the felt recoil is going to go into the frame, unlike a locked breach short recoil design.

Vicious!!! Much worse than any .45 ACP or large 9MM.

Hogwash. I was just shooting my cheetah a few days ago, and the snap isn't much at all, and I'm a slim framed guy with small hands. I can't really compare it to the walther, but I was shooting a Springfied XD9 subcompact for about a half hour then switched to the Cheetah, so I can compare them directly - they were almost exactly the same recoil-wise, with the beretta being the tiniest bit slightly more snappy.

The beretta .380 is a smoothe little piece, nobody who has actually fired it would call it vicious.

I recently got a Beretta 84 and it is a great shooter. IMO, recoil is mild and the gun is very accurate and controllable. It has been serving as my carry gun for the last couple weeks. I really like the fatter grip of the 84, but it's still very easy to conceal. I also like the idea of having 14 rounds of Golden Sabers on hand.

I have the Browning BDA380 (a production twin of the Cheetah -- Beretta makes it for Browning) and it feels like I'm shooting a .22 ... really mild!

I've got a Beretta 85FS in .380. Its has a slight snap to the recoil but its nothing. Nice little piece.

I characterize it as a little pop. More then a 22LR out of like a Ruger but a lot less then say a PPK/S or like a SIG 210. Just enough to let you know the gun went off but not enough to screw up your grip. Lots of fun to shoot and surprisingly accurate.
