What is this part? S&W 629

I have a friend that does cerakoting for me and I brought this 629 to him about 6 months ago, and he ended up going through a rough divorce before he finished. I told him to take however much time he needed. He finished up the last of the parts yesterday and I’m getting the parts all back in the frame and I have one part left over that I have no idea what to do with.

I’ve been trying to figure it out from watching reassembly videos and looking at parts diagrams but I’m stumped and now I need to come to you guys with hat in hand and my tail between my legs. What the heck is this part and where does it go?

I went to Gun Parts Corps’ website and pulled up the 629 schematic and that part doesn’t appear on that schematic. I have see one of those parts before but I don’t recall where and for what gun.

Check this out:
All 3 schematics appear alike. There are only 3 for the 629 models

yeah I looked at all of those
 
It looks like an ejector to me.
Did you recently have a Glock in pieces?

Yep, that’s it. When the trigger is fully depressed it moves up behind the bolt lock and prevents it from moving backwards under recoil. It’s to prevent the cylinder from unlocking under heavy recoil. That also explains why I’ve never seen it: I’ve never fully disassembled one of the few models that has one.
