It is a Dutch Beaumont. Mine is dated 1875 and I have 40 rounds of ammunition for it. The firing pin spring is inside the bolt handle.

11mm also called .43 Dutch. It is a blackpowder round ,I believe. About $90 for 20 rounds from Buffalo Bore.

The original Beaumont was a single shot but they added a Vetterli magazine to create a repeater. I did a lot of research when I bought mine. I only gave $100 for it but it had been laying in a closet for at least 80 years. I had to soak the bolt in some homemade penetrating solvent (thanks to some of the members here) for about 3 weeks to get the screw out that holds the bolt handle halves together to make sure the spring was operational. The cartridges are black powder.

What I find particularly interesting about military rifles of this vintage is their design to fend off cavalry charges. They're long with long bayonets to use like lances.

That round looks sort of .43 Mauser-ish. Cool stuff

Too many European battles were decided "at push of pike". Hard to get away from that thinking, even with repeating rifles.
Love the elevated rear sight; old rifles were almost indirect fire weapons.
