One more thing:

A lot of people do not consider 9mm to be a "serious" caliber. I have an M9, but prefer my Colts and M1911A1.

Armoredman - The Brits have a standing order after long experience
with the BHP - load magazines to 12 rds Max. you'll get nicked
for a 13 rd load in the field. It's a reliability issue. Also, they have a standard draw and cock the BHP - carrying Condition Two.

In FMJ .40 S&W or .45 ACP NOT 9mmx19

a 75B in .40 S&W is 10+1 cap. fwiw

I had a P95 and it was anything but reliable. I know I must have been the unlucky bastage as for as that pistol is concerned, but I wouldn't trade my CZ75B for much of anything else. Points perfectly for me, never so much as a hiccup, and plenty of options to make it fit the way you want it. Can't say so much for the P95. When it did work, I was about half as accurate with it as I was my CZ.

Well, huzzah, the S&W Model 22 - S&W sculpted the frame of the
Model 22 4" Bbl and the Model 22 MOdel of 1917 5 1/2" to give them
the look of the 1950 Army & M1917, respectively. General Mark Clark
carried a S&W .45 ACP revolver in 2 wars.

Note: In Washington State in the past year the State Patrol dropped
H&K because of lack of CUstomer service and have adopted the
S&W M&P .40 S&W standard size for the troopers. Neither the H&K model
they had nor the previous 92FS were liked by many of troopers.

You must have had one made on a Friday or Monday. Send it back to Ruger. They will fix it. P-95 are dead on and eat anything!

Well, the ole Glock fits the bill. Whether you like em' or hate em' they work, and work forever.

My security agency has just started an armed division.
I'm gonna upgrade my license here in a couple of months.
My duty gun is the Walther P99AS, of which I already own and carry CCW.
The Ruger P95 is nice, I used to have one, but it's to top heavy IMHO for hoofing around on a 12 hour shift.

No modern PD or military is going to issue thumb safety CZ's for general issue and let the officers or troops run them cocked and locked. Which is why the orginal author said no 1911 or browning HP.

Not saying I agree with it, but that is the preceived reality, that guns with hammer back are "dangerous" or scary to the general public.

No PD or military is also going to issue thumb safety CZ and have them manually lowered to DA, far to much training required and safety, lawsuit concerns for todays world.

Notice that PD's only started switching from DA revolvers to autos when DA (FBI considers GLOCK DA, which lead the way to alot of depts adopting them)auto's became more common. The 1911 and BHP were around forever and were mostly military weapons due to SA designs.

If I was running a PD on an extremely thin budget I would issue Ruger P-95's or s&w sigmas
