What is your all-time favorite rifle?

Excluding 22LR caliber, the one rifle that I have that would be grabbed in a SHTF scenario over all others I own is my select fire FN/FAL. It is very accurate with standard sights and very controllable on full auto.
Here it is on the left end with my 2 M14s (which would be left laying in the driveway for whoever wanted them If I had to di di mau) and others.

I fought the feelings for years in favor of sexier .30 cal models, but I have to say my favorite is the plain old boring AR-15. What can I say -- it's a great combination of accuracy, reliability, light weight, ergonomics, ease of maintenance, plentiful and cheap spare parts, and is customizable enough that I can make it fit me and my shooting style perfectly.

Oh gosh, answering this question would start a fight inside my safe that would sound like a Hefty bag full of pots and pans thrown down the stairs.
The fighters would be my Marlin 39As, my Garands, my M1A, and my those guns left to me by my dad and grand dad.
Those rifles are in that safe because they *are* my favorites.

I love my old Remington M722 in .257 Roberts, my grandpa's old gun and what I shot my first deer with at age 11 in 1963. I took one last season with it, 50 years after the first one. Hunted with it just for that reason.
If I want a rifle, not black powder, I'll generally go for my stainless Remington M7 in .308, though. That thing is an awesome hunting rifle.

I didn't know Sako made stainless, fluted rifles. That's a fine looking and functional piece.

Rob, that's the Finnlight model and they have been making them for a while now.
I probably have more rifles than a guy should but I loose interest in them quickly. I'll either build a rifle or buy a factory model but the glamor in it quickly subsides and its off to another. As far as favorites go I have none zip,zero!

To date my favorite is the AR. You can buy them in 22 to 300 win mag! It has so may uses and infinite combinations.
I have yet to shoot an AK but I have a feeling it will give the AR a good run for its money on my favorites list.

Gosh, so many rifles, so much fun. OK, it has to be my Savage 93 .22M. I bought this stainless rifle on gunbroker.com, had my gunsmith thread the barrel, changed to a Boyd's gray laminate stock, and mounted a Nikon 300 BDC scope. It is stupidly accurate and an affordable hoot to shoot.

Whenever I've mentioned how much better my SKS is with the TS 200 version of TechSights, few people seem to comprehend (or care).
Maybe they feel that the installation requires any skill at all. It requires none.
