What is Your Choice of Personal Flashlight?

I carry a Streamlight TL-2 EDC in a weak side pouch, a LED mod'd Solitaire loose in my left front pocket, and a Fenix L0P (very small 1xAAA light w/ a 1 watt Luxeon) in my right pocket. Like Blackbear I've got a lot of modded Maglites around the house, and a Strion I use for work.

For personal carry, there are several are on my list:

Surefire:

E2D Defender configured with the non-flaired Z61 tailcap

E2L Outdoorsman (current favorite)

Streamlight:

Scorpion

TL2-LED

TL3 (incredible throw)

PentagonLights:

PX1

L2-HA 3w LED (excellent performance)

I'm extremely pleased with my Insight Technologies M2 UTL. Unlike the M3, this version has an on/off switch in addition to the on/momentary toggle. This makes it much more desireable for pocket carry, as the M3 that I used to have was too easily activated by accident. They can get hot.

Run time is around two hours with CR123 batteries, but it's brighter than my 6-D cell Maglite and it fits my USP full-size, USP compact, and my Glock 22!

I'm going back and forth on whether or not I'm gonna buy one myself. Even though they're cheap I don't have much disposable income at the moment. Tough to beat that price though!

When you get them do a comparison on all three if you can and let us know if the beam is consistent among them. Someone just started a thread today at CPF who bought 3 in Hong Kong and they all three had different beams. Another guy bought two though and they both had the same identical awesome, white beams. Don't forget that they have adjustable beams/heads too.

They finally came. I've had them about ten days. Picture with my digital is a no go- major washout. They are all three VERY bright and have beams that are essentially identical. They are not nearly as blue as some other LED's I've seen. Slight bluish tinge, but more white than most. I can't quarrel with the quality on any level. The tail switch works reliably on all three (so far), the machining and anodizing is up to scratch too. The focusing mechanism works and can get you to a nice tight beam without any dead spots in the middle.

The longest I've used one yet is about 20 minutes straight. Had to walk down into the woods to retrieve one of my terriers that had an Armadillo bayed in a hole. The light stayed the same brightness and did not get hot, though it was a cold night out and that might have affected the temp gain. The light does have some rings around the bulb area that I guess are for heat dissipation?

Maybe the nicest surprise was with the extra batteries I ordered. Ordered 20 @ $1.50 each, thinking I'd get 20 batteries (duh!). Well, I got 20 PAIR of batteries for that price. NOT BAD!

Thanks for the leads, I like the lights and would recommend them - great bargain!
