Most reliable

My PT145 keeps working, so it stays on the nightstand and close while camping. Over 1000 rounds without so much as a hiccup.

However, as the owner of a 10mm Witness, it is quickly becoming the favorite and chosen one for under pillow camping duty. More power for bears or cougars if needed, and if that fails, it's heavy, I can use it as a club.

Sig 239. I bought one used for $575 complet with Lasermax (which was off but Lasermax put in a new one and calibrated it for me!). Also love my CZ75B. Best 9 (for the money) made!

It would have to be one of my Kimber 1911's. I've tried and owned a bunch of guns, but I trust the Kimber 1911's the most of my semi autos.

Actually, all of mine. If I EVER have a feeding problem, I look closely to the cause, and I do whatever's needed to rectify it. If it can't be rectified, then I get rid of the gun.

I don't have "range" and "carry" guns. They all have to function in either capacity. If they don't, they're not worth having. This philosophy also keeps me from blowing money on esoteric guns or "safe queens." Any gun I buy has to be a shooter first and foremost, and it has to be reliable enough for carry.

Same philosophy here. Fullsize Colt is in works. The 4" Kimber is fully reliable, about 2000 rounds now, H&K P7M8 - almost 6000 rounds, 1 ammo-related malfunction.

My newish, used S&W 4586. Reminds me of the 3913 I once had. Stone cold reliable.

What pistol do you trust the most with your life? Which one goes bang every time and you are betting will continue to do so when the chips are down?
That's a tough question, because I have so many auto pistols of various designs, makes and calibers that have NEVER failed in any way. That said, if I had to choose from among those, I'd go with my current carry gun, which is a Springfield Armory Loaded 1911A1 .45 ACP, full size, all stainless steel. It never fails to go bang. Had it for at least ten years now, with not a single failure to fire. Same can be said for a few other 1911s that I own too, though, but this one's stainless, and that makes it low maintenance, so that's the one I pick.
