What is your next gun purchase?

There was a S&W 17 sitting in the case a couple weeks ago. Some of the bluing was worn and it is expensive for a .22LR. Still, I thought about it. My excuse is that I need to work on my DA pull and the .22LR semis out there are SA.
I went in to look at it again. Sold! There is a Colt Python sitting there thoug. Normally I don't look at Colts much, but something made me look. Big mistake - great trigger, 4" barrel has a nice balance.
So now I'm looking at an even more expensive gun.:banghead:

Yes, I know what is next.

Para Ordnance CCW, or maybe the CCO. Whichever feels better in my hand.

I'm currently looking to get my second handgun. I'm looking at the springfield armoury XD-9 with the 4 inch barrel, or a CZ-75. I have shot both of them, and I really like them both. Just saving my pennies now :)

Here's my short term shopping list, in no particular order:

Springfield GI 1911
Ruger Redhawk (.44mag) 7.5"
Kel-Tec SU-16 in one version or another
Mossberg 935

Wish list:

M1 Garand
AI AS50 or a Barret of the same caliber (can't we all dream?)

Oh yes, this is my first post, feel free to welcome me. Been lurking for a while, finally felt the need to start talking back.

feel free to welcome me
Welcome. :D

Anyone else have a specific type of firearm in their sights?
I'm actually kinda shopped out at the moment, but if I was forced :) to buy another firearm it would probably be a AR10 pattern rifle....

carterbuford,

Welcome to THR. My post of this thread was my 1,000th post!. Try a M1 Garand, you will probably really like it. Also, the M1A is a truly great rifle to shoot. I am sorry I waited so many years to get one.

S&W 686 or a 30-06 rifle what is a good price for either with today ever increasing prices for guns?
Thanks

I have been considering a 3" Taurus 44 Ten for the novelty of having a 5 round .410 (and .45LC) revolver but first I need to make sure that my local range will allow it.

I am looking for a long range precision rifle and a battle rifle so my next rifle will be an Armalite AR-50 or a custom built .338 Lapua, or either a Fulton Armory M14 dropped into a Sage Tactical stock or a JLD PTR-91.

Guess it all depends if I get a sign on bonus and how hard it ends up being for me to get college paid for.

In about 3 years, when I get done with school, I'd like to buy a Springfield TRP Pro or Ed Brown Classic Custom. I won't have enough money to buy anything before then, or enough time to go shooting to make it worthwhile.

I bought a Yugo SKS last June that's only been to the range once (80 rounds) and a CZ-75B SA last August that's only been to the range 2 or 3 times (440 rounds). If I make any big gun related purchases before I'm done with school, it'll be sending my CZ to Miossi Gun Works for an action job, hard sear, and steel trigger.

Next for me is a Bersa .380 Concealed Carry. Looking for a lower profile for me and my wife wants to move up from .22lr. I got a surprise teaching assignment overseeing an internship. Not much work on my part and the pay will more than cover the weapon.

Nothing certain, but I've kinda got a hankering for a 3" Ruger SP-101 in .357. Wish they made one in .41 mag!

Here it goes in this order.

C&R--Yugo SKS--Like I need another but oh well!

Pistol--Nighthawk 1911

Rifle--Still havent decieded yet between a 700 or RRA LAR-10

Shotgun--870p

These purchases will happen alot sooner if I can shake this Microtech problem I have.

Boy, there are some great ideas mentioned above!

Up until very recently I owned nothing but high-end revolvers, all-steel pistols and blued/wood rifles and shotguns. But I recently added my very first polymer-framed gun. Two of them, actually.

Just acquired a 10mm G29 and a 4" XD-45, so there won't be any "next gun purchases" for quite a while!

I'm thinking maybe an Olympic Arms Plinker+ AR15 or a Keltec SU16.

Given I'm in Jersey (not many "rifles allowed" ranges around), I probably ought not buy either of them, and just get a pistol caliber carbine instead.

Should common sense set in, I'll look at the Beretta CX4, ruger PC4, or Keltec
SUB2000 in .40.

Well, not really planning on one as I am buying things for the guns I already have, but I do plan on getting another stripped AR lower before the 2008 elections just to hold onto for a rainy day (If Hillary wins I'll quickly buy the parts to make a traditional 5.56mm AR to go with it before she bans it all).

If Springfield Armory decides to have the plant in Croatia make it, I'd buy a subcompact version of the XD45ACP.

I've got a lot of room for rmy cabinet, though my next purchase is a reloader.

After that, probably a Mossberg 500.

No new guns in the immediate future.
My PhD graduation present to myself will be a 30-06 left hand bolt gun with a scope. I am considering CZ for the bolt gun; don't know about the scope.
