Regarding options to reduce the size of the grip, if no one has mentioned it, you can use the Hogue Rubber Wraparound grip with Fingergroves for the CZ 75B (https://www.amazon.com/Hogue-Rubber-Wraparound-Finger-Grooves/dp/B000S5SCPM ) as a snug fitting replacement. Since the 97B is of course a larger frame than the 75B, so to get the Hogue to fit, you simply place the grip in boiling water for about 30-60 seconds, quickly dry it and attach one side of the grip to the 97B frame and stretch the grip over and attach the second side of the grip. I have medium to large hands and didn’t particularly care for the walnut OEM grips and I’ve found this Hogue Rubber Wraparound grip with Fingergroves to be perfect for me. FYI - I have several .45acp pistols (Sig P220, HK45, CZ 97B), and the 97B is my favorite by far.

Have any CZ97B owners had trouble getting a fully loaded magazine to seat with the slide forward?

if you watch the video on the 97B in MAC/Military Arms Channel on youtube, that happens with mine every so often with a fully loaded mag. this is with the slide pulled back.
with the slide forward, the magazine has to be pushed quite firmly until it locks. even tapping the base in,the magazine often doesn't lock in and firm even pressure is better .
the solution for the slide back is to have the first bullet have a slight gap from the back of the magazine or to wiggle the magazine slightly forward.

Thank you!

Any issues when practicing Tactical Reloads i.e. replacing a half-loaded magazine with a fully-loaded magazine while the slide is forward during a lull in the fight?

i would not be the right person to ask. if i had to use a 45 for home defense. i would choose my sigp220 over my 1911s over the 97b. the 1911s are also reliable but i would rather lose a 220 over my 1911s once it is collected for evidence. the 220 doesn't have any hiccups or workarounds to make it function reliably unlike the 97b.
