What muzzleloader

I have cva Bobcats in .36, .50, and .54 cal. Also have a CVA Kentucky in .50 and its the most accurate one I have. Three single shot pistols, 2 in .50 and one in .45. About 10 bp derringers and 10 revolvers. I shoot roundball out of all of them with the occasional conical in my ML rifles during deer season and the occasional revolver cylinder loaded with Lee 200 grain conicals. Use mostly #11 caps with a few #10 when better suited for a particular gun. Use a lot of Pyrodex RS and P occasionally 777 and rarely the holy black cause its just hard to find.

Hi- I've always used a patched round ball in my Renegade. I have always used 3 f (fff) real black powder in it as well- and #11 caps- usually Remingtons

killed over 30 deer with the store bought Renegade!

Hope this helps!

I also have a Rem ML700 SS in 54 cal.. I prefer hunting and shooting the T/C...

The Bobcat has been more reliable at filling the freezer than all the rest put together.

T/C new Englander .50 T/C maxi balls/round balls. And which ever powder i have on hand.
Austin/Halleck .50 maxi balls/round balls.
Cabela's Blue Ridge (Pedersoli) .36 cal round balls.
Savage .50cal Hornady 300gr SST/Sabot Accurate 5744 powder,
All are very accurate. The savage will shoot 1"@ 100 on most days, but 1.5 at the worst. The Blue ridge i have had ignition problems since i bought it new. When it fires it too is very accurate. This is my squirrel rifle. I shoot 40gr over a Hornady .350 round ball and .15 patch.
The savage is my current deer rifle, and is devastating on them.
P.S. I would love to have a T/C Cherokee in .36 cal.

I shoot Goex only, FFg in my Lyman percussion GPR and FFFg in my new flint Pa mountain rifle. Then there is my 1858 Remington New Army. I recently inherited a repro 3-band Lee-Enfield musket and a Uberti 1861 Colt Navy. I will be shooting the flintlock most of all.

.50 Caliber Cabela's Hawken Hunter Carbine (Investarms), 385 grain Hornady great plains or 360 grain Lee improved minie cast of pure lead. 90 grains equivalent by volume Pyrodex RS. It also shoots the 240 Hornady .44 sabot quite well. 1:24 twist. I have a small rifle primer conversion and shoot small rifle magnum primers. Number 11 caps ain't too great with Pyrodex and I can't get black powder here.

I have a couple of revolvers. My fav is the ROA, Pyrodex P, home made number 11 caps (tap-o-cap), 220 grain Lee conical.

1858 New Army (Pietta) with 5.5" barrel.
#11 caps (can't find #10's)
.454 round ball, but I've heard Buffalo Bullet concials work real well out of this

Tons o' fun. Waiting for the snow to go away to shoot it. The indoor ranges frown upon BP.

CVA Optima Elite .50 cal. Right now it is sighted in for 100g pyrodex pellets and a 245 gr powerbuilt bullet. It shoots 2-2.5" from a rest at 75 yards, so I really need to get my hands on some powder and do some fine tuning. Since I hunt at 50-75y, it'll do but I would like to find a better load. I have gotten some shockwaves and some really tight sabots to work with... now to get some BH209 to play with.

I used to have a Traditions Pursuit xlt and a Pietta 1851 Colt but no more. The only bp gun I have right now is a TC hawken that I have completely redone. I stripped and tru-oiled the stock and bead blasted and bowned the metal. I also added a mag-spark 209 primer nipple and a tang peep sight. I haven't shot it in it's new form yet (this weekend I will though) but I have been shooting PRB's out of it. I'm going to try to put together a conical hunting load for it (I bought a few different kinds).
Hopefully soon I can get some more smoke poles; I'm thinking a 1858 remmy, a cap kentucky pistol, a flinter full stock kentucky rifle, and a renegade/ hawken with a 1:28 gm barrel....and maybe a TC Omega....it never ends...

I shoot both rifle and pistols,
My rifles are:
-Lyman's GPR .50 cal. flintlock
-T/C Hawken .50 cal. perc.
-TOTW Edward Marshal pre-revolutionary war Virgina rifle .54 cal. flintlock.
-Blue Ridge rifle .32 cal. perc.
My pistols are:
-Uberti Walker .44 cal.
-Uberti Leech & Rigdon .36 cal.
-Uberti 1858 Remington New Army .44 cal.
-Uberti 3rd Model Dragoon .44 cal.
-Pietta 1862 Police .36 cal.
-Lymans Great Plains Pistol .50 cal.
-Kentucky pistol .45 cal.

Lyman GPR .54 percussion with a slow twist
TC Hawken .50 percussion with a fast twist GM barrel
Pedersoli Kentucky percussion pistol in .54

I think I'd like to part with the Lyman only to trade up for a flint in the same caliber but faster twist. I haven't had the Hawken out since I got the new barrel on it. The one I've enjoyed most so far is the Pedersoli, loads of fun.

.36 Euroarms Brass-frame '51 -As yet, unstretched
.36 Uberti 1861 civilian -Action, fit and finish perfect
.36 Uberti 1862 Navy pocket -Weak hammer spring
.36 Pietta Spiller & Burr -Built like a tank, the perfect knock-around woods carry gun
.31 Remington pocket -Inaccurate but fun to shoot
.32 Crockett rifle -Dead accurate out of the box
.32 Crockett pistol-Haven't shot this but 3 times, am going to sell or trade

May get a .44 this summer but can't decide which one.

Shoot several, but my favorite is a fusil de chasse .62 smoothie I put together few years ago.

P1010034.jpg

But I also like this .54 lefty rocklock I built.

FOUR.jpg

ONE.jpg

Both have Getz swamped barrels and I burn Goex or Graf's BP.

Here are a few of mine. Above the fireplace are the following, TC 54, CVA SXS 12 gauge,English Dragoon 1746 62cal, Charles Daly 50 and a Traditions Kentucky 50. The cased revolver 1860 Uberti kit, polished steel that took awhile. First kit I have done. Uberti 1860 44 Army with fluted cylinder. Then the rest are a mix of pistols and revolvers. One of which is a TC 45 Fireplace rifles 001.jpg Patriot and Ruger Old Army........
