What my youngest did on her bday

The cutest thing ever but also awesome, I can't wait until my youngest girl reaches that age, my teenager is a phantom now and I see lil flashes of her out of the corner of my eye, she used to love shooting with me and if she didn't she put on a pretty good show. Now if I really push the issue she will humor me, but I can only hold her attention for about a half an hour.

Half an hour? That's doing pretty good. I think my average with an early teenager used to be 3 minutes to blankout. Not quite blackout, but might as well be.

However, I'm known far and wide as a terrible bore.

I honestly can't remember either of the first times I shot with my two sons. I do remember giving the younger one written signed permission to own and carry a Beretta .22 auto (openly, of course at the time). I impressed upon him my confidence in his responsibility to own it. He says he still prizes that scrap of paper.. By the way, this younger one was the first of us to get a CCW when it became legal in Colorado.

Spend all the time you can with her, grandpa. They grow up fast.

I'm into great grand daughters now. The 15 year old hit me up to take her to the range last week. Being seriously hobbled by a bum hip that doesn't want to heal up i told her I couldn't walk far enough to set up the targets. She said she could do it and I know she can. Unfortunately the wind was up the next day and still is so no range trip yet. So far she only has a sliight interest in boys so that is in my favor to keep her shooting. I also have a 12 year old that likes to shoot as much as her older sister and still thinks boys are yucky so I should have a range buddy for a while longer.
