Burst my bubble???? Cops are called to a crime scene, to offensively attack and take down law breakers. their weapons are drawn before they reach the law breakers, they are not surprised and have to draw unless they are ambushed which happens but rarely.. They are offensive combatants with the law on their side, and carry their weapons to the crime scene, they rarely have to quick draw their weapon, like someone who has to defend themself from a personal attack.. very few cops are attacked by a surprise assault, they are called to a crime scene already aware of a crime in play... they offensively go after the criminals, not wait for the criminals to come to them.Sorry to burst your bubble, but police officers don't 'offensively assault a bad guy'. They do, however, justifiably use their firearms defensively when the following three factors are present: Ability (the ability of the suspect to cause death or grievous bodily injury), Opportunity (the suspect is able to carry out death or grievous bodily injury), Jeopardy (the officer reasonably believed his life was in imminent danger). And by the way, pockets are meant to keep you keys and comb in, not your firearm, holstered or not.
SWAT uses offensive weapon and tactics to go after criminals ( an assault ) an offensive action )... and offensively gain fire superiority, a term used in the military every day... Burst my bubble indeed. until you have walked a mile in my shoes both professionally and as a civilian you couldn't burst my bubble with a shot gun.
