At minute 1:36 in the movie. During the scene with the shoot out in the trailer where Jamie Foxx's girlfriend has a bomb around her neck. The (gorgeous) female officer played by Elizabeth Rodriguez, Gina, points a rifle at the white guy's head. He taunts her by telling her he'll push the button even if she shoots him. She comes back with the outstanding line, "That's not gonna happen. What will happen is... What will happens is I will put a round at 2700 feet per second into the medula at the base of your brain and you will be dead from the neck down, before your body knows it. Your finger won't even twitch. Only you get dead. So tell me sport, do you believe that?"
Now, the question. The rifle looks likes like an H&K G36. I expect it is. Yet 2700 fps is the wrong velocity for 5.56. It is, however, exactly right for a 165-grain 7.62 cartridge. Or at least, that's what the random Remington ammunition information I dug up had. Anything chambered in 5.56 should be at least 3100 fps or so.
So, is there a 2700 fps loading for 5.56? Is there a 7.62 version of the G36? Or did they get the numbers wrong?
There is a decent picture of that exact scene here. It's hard to see the magazine though.
Editted because I'm an idiot and it's Jamie Foxx, not Denzel Washington...
