Not sure if having a suppressor on a rifle might effect what scope someone uses but thought I better add it in their. Looking to use this gun for mostly home defense/plinking and maybe hunt with it. Not really a dedicated hunting rifle since I don't really rifle hunt anymore but might want to try it out on varmints and/or deer. Would most likely keep the shots under 150 yards so I don't need a 12X power scope, but may something variable like 1-6X.

I was thinking about getting another Aimpoint Pro but realized I might want some magnification. So I guess there's two routes I could go. Get a regular type rifle scope or get a red dot with a magnifier. I can get about $100 off on Sig scopes if that helps. I don't want to really spend more than $600 on the scope set up.

What would be a good multipurpose scope or red dot with magnifier?

For the effective range of a pistol length barrel, a red dot should work perfect.

What red dot would you recommend?

I've heard Trijicon MRO and Aimpoint PRO.

I have an Aimpoint Comp M4 on my MCX. Great optic. I once had my Trijicon TA31RCO-M4 ACOG 4x32 USMC M4 on it but moved it over to my Colt LE6940 because the MCX is destined for 300 BLK SBR (which I will shoot suppressed, subsonic).

Either is a great option. You will benefit from magnification even on an SBR. The ACOG does not give up a whole lot in CQB either.

I also use an Aimpoint T-2 Micro on my mPx 9mm. Cant go wrong with Aimpoint or Trijjicon.

Cool. I'll look into those.

What about a Leupold Mark AR Firedot? I've heard about this scope too.

What red dot would you recommend?

The new little Trijicon looks good (though I havnt yet used one). The micro Aimpoints are all excellent. If you prefer to step down in price, the Primary Arms Advanced red dot is awesome for the price (honestly, I kind of prefer it over my Aimpoint H1, due to its ultra low profile emitter).

Bottom line, I'd look for a RDS that is always on, with a battery life measured in years.

For HD nothing beats a Red Dot. Aimpoint PRO, H1/T1, M4 etc. Something like a low power variable in a QD mount would be cool to add later. Could pop it on in a few seconds to shoot at longer range targets for fun and the good QD mounts will hold zero.
