What Semi-Auto would you buy for ~$750?

Any 1911 or the Springfield XD 45, My dad just picked up the XD45 for 529.99, and my fiancee just bought a Sig GSR revolution XO 1911 for 739.99. i would keep the glock at home and look for something better like one of these 2 pistols or even the M&P or even a P220, P226 or the P229.

For that money you could probably get a CZ75 and a Cadet conversion. You'd have another 9mm AND another .22. The CZ looks like a "full size gun small enough for carry". The platforms match up nicely with what you already have.
I think a 1911 is a good choice, too. You cover a lot of bases with the Glock and .22 you already have. Your Glock gives you a nice center-fire good for range and defense purposes, concealable when you are ready for that. And any .22 is a fun plinker. A lot of people stay away from the 1911 because they think it's some kind of "expert's gun". Beleive me, I wanted one for years and stayed away from them for that reason. I'm glad I finally took the plunge and regret not doing it sooner. If you consider that route, I'd suggest a full size to start. Not really a great carry gun as far as I'm concerned, but really great for just about everything else.

I'd grab a Glock 34/35 (range/bedside duty) or 26/27 (for carry) and kit it out or just kit out the 19 you have.
Stuff like:
-extra mags (always a good thing for trips to the range)
-good quality leather holster for a carry gun (makes carrying pleasurable rather than painful and conspicuous)
-Truglo TFO sights (really great sights for day or low light)
-.22LR conversion (lots of practice on your main weapon platform without getting a second mortgage)
-weapon mounted light (for bedside duty)
-Lasermax laser (for dryfiree practice and breaking in new shooters)

You've got to have a 1911, and you need a 45acp! I have shot all kinds of 45's; H&K, sig, S&W, Beretta, springfield, etc and always return to my S&W 1911pd! Now I have a Kimber Ultra Carry II Custom for ccw and it is a hot shooter!
Shooting a 45 versus a 9mm is, at first, a big WOW in difference. But soon you get used to the 45 and will love it.

I've recently been CC'ing a Sig 226 Stainless Elite and like it a lot but it is a bit big and over your limit.
I've had good luck with a Sig P239 in 9, but it also comes in 357sig and 40. Small, smooth angles, lightweight, scary accurate.
But I've had my eye on a Sig 220 Compact 45. Beaver tail, Short Reset Trigger, Very Concealable.
Man, I've got to find the extra dough.
